exactly what I was telling Shaaron yesterday; someone might have been cut but they might have stopped him from beheading the poor guy

ppl are too passive now-a-days; as long as it's not them, they won't intevene

Lightbulb

From the second that the surrounding people realized what was going on, it became fight or flight. It's a natural human mechanism we use to cope with stressful/fearful situations. The average human will take the flight option without thinking it over for even the slightest moment. The bus was filled with flight... you can't expect people to help in this situation. When panic starts, people tend to go with the mass's. Being the last action hero doesn't always pay off.. if ever.

You are all loosing sight of everything here! The guy is dead ! This is what the world is coming to and what is happening on the damn Greyhound bus! This shouldn't be a discussion about people should have jumped in, they should have done something - Aside from a few people keeping the guy on the bus until cops got there what more do you want from them? Police even said they did the right thing and from how they reacted probably avoided any other fatalities.

This should be a discussion about why Canada has no security measures for the bus! Because it will cost more and take longer to get on but you will get there safe!!!! Hmmm... tough choice, I choose to live!

Maybe this is just hitting me different than others because of how often I take the Greyhound, but still people....

Do something?

Nobody knew what was happening until the the guy had started stabbing the sleeping victim in the throat. I'm going to guess that nobody here has been stabbed in the throat with a combat knife because you're all ..... em, what's the word??? Oh yeah: alive.

The only possible way anyone was going to help is if an ER staff with a full hospital appeared in the middle of a Greyhound bus.... and then someone took out the knife wielding dude and George f**king Clooney stitched up the victim in seconds.

If you see someone with a knife threatening someone.. try to help if you can.

If you see someone with a knife who has already inflicted a fatal blow.. stay out of the way and call the cops. The victim didn't care if his head got cut off, he was already dead. No need to go get yourself cut up to give a stranger an open casket funeral.

Wow I might have to close this thread now, it's like a great final chapter to a crappy book...if anyone needs to argue after this you lack common sense

i appreciate the argument u put forth but maybe in a different situation where someone is being threatened or whatever, I think people should be able to atleast intervene and try to help. Like I said in an earlier post, I don't think they coulda saved the man's life, but atleast he might not have beheaded him? That's just barbaric

beheaded or not dude was still dead? why should somebody risk death themselves to save an already dead person? just dont make sense bro

thats like running into a burning morgue to save dead bodies from being burnt...they are dead, injuring or killing yourself isnt gonna change anything but if it makes you feel better about yourself then you go on right ahead and do that
