A situation...

so i ran into someone's bumper last month and it was .. nothing.
so i called the guy and ask if he wants me to fix it and he said it's ok coz it's nothing..

so i've been trying to call him and ask him to sign a letter regarding that he suggested not to get it fixed so i dun get any BS later on.

but now he still haven't sign it yet..

SO......

so i keep calling him and tell him to come out and sign a letter or juss leave it?

Well he could turn around and stab you in the back. Does he have any information about you? Like insurance! either way you should still try to get a hold of him, so that you wont have the possibility of doubt.

I would make a police report of what happened. And state that he said that he didnt want you to fix it, although you offered.. that way atleast there is a record of it.

there is a time limit.. if it hasn't been reported by now don't worry about it ... if you report it you'd get in trouble and so would he and if he reported same thing ... fault or no fault there is a time frame and if you don't report in that time frame there are consequences

if you offer to bring the letter to him maybe he'll sign

also if you file the report with the police then it happened and your insurance will find out about it when you renew

if all involved don't report it then it never happened... there is no paper trail

yeah .. I believe the time to report is 48 hours (I said I believe I might not be right on the amount of time)

but yeah all parties directly involved have to report the accident...

I would call the police , and make a report about what happened, include all details names and what not.. state that you hit him and asked if he wanted you to pay for damages, and that he declined. But to make sure you tried to get him to sign something stating that he turned you down for any costs of repairs..

The report is just so the information is there just in case..
It will also make you look like you are in the right, cause you made an effort to resolve this.

reporting it WILL affect your insurance when you renew. when a police report is made, both drivers insurance companies will recieve a copy. once they find out, they'll most likely raise your rates.

If you go the only thing that will happen is for you to be able to reslove this. They will advise you what to do. Im sure theres an officer or 5 sitting around at the station... Someone can help you.

Bring all the info you have just incase.
It will not effect your Insurance.
