LS1 is the engine code for 98-02 Camaro/Firebird 305hp (98-99) / 310 hp (00-02) and for the standard 97-03 Corvette 345hp (97-00), 350hp (01-03).

And the guy sitting in the car is Steve Buscemi. You may remember him from such films as Armageddon, Con Air, Monster's Inc. (a voice role, obviously!!) and probably the best movie he's ever done, Reservoir Dogs.

And yes, that scene is from Mr. Deeds when Adam Sandler's character buys the entire town red Corvettes.
