Some will say it's better to party it up, smoke, do drugs, etc, and live a fun short life...

but the reality...is that smokers..alcoholics and drug users.. won't die a quick death. Their life may be short..but those last few years/months...are hell.

got an ashtray and get it damp then take a shiff thats what u smell like from about 10ft away just after u smoke.

Lol if you ppl ever see someone smoking through a hole in their throat, then you will know that smoking is NOT COOL.

Imagine how cool you would be standing with the crowd........ with a respirator hooked up........ smoking through a hole in your neck........you would totally be the coolest dude ever. Definite social plus (especially with the ladies)

Ladies love a guy who's on a respirator........ oh wait..... they dont. THey just want you to f'ing die so that they can get ur money!

I never said the side effects of smoking are good, I never said it makes you look socially elevated.

I simply stated, smoking is cool. Having a single cigarette and enjoying it for the moment is cool.

Bbarb, you can do it when you want to do it, don't try to quit for anyone elses sake, it's selfish for them to want to you live better, only 'quit' if you want to. It's hard for the first few days, then it is much easier. Feel free to pm me if you ever decide to quit and have some quetsions... your body goes through a lot of different things... you may even get cancre sores... it's not herpes.

I think what you're saying is wrong tho, maybe having a smoke makes you think you're cool for the moment, but that's it. cool is an opinion not a fact, so you can't really say it IS or it ISN'T cool in general, it is just cool in your opinion.

Obviously other ppl don't agree tho..

It doesn't make me think I'm cool, smoking in itself if cool.

As an addicition it sucks on many levels.

I think It's wrong to tell people what to do. Who are you to tell someone not to hurt themselves by choice? And many of these people who don't agree with me, have never smoked and can't really have a proper opinion on smoking.

You don't listen to a virgin's advice on different sex positions.. do you?

stupid.ca is telling people what to do.. they are comparing using electrical equipment in the bathtub to smoking... thus TELLING people that smoking is that stupid... the majority of television addicts who listen to TV are stupid to begin with....

what did that sentence of your insinuate though?

didnt read throught all the posts. but all i gotta say is that i HATE those stupid.ca commercials...like u honestly think that calling smokers stoopid and being all condescending is gonna make them wanna quit?! aw hell naw! i get sooo irritated at those commercials and i'm only a social smoker.

most non-smoking resources I looked at made me want to smoke more.

They really push how it's anti-social.

To a regular bar goer... smoking is anything but.

most of the non-smokers I know are the turkeys who go to a bar barely once a week, have three drinks, act drunk, and go home.

The guys who stay for 6 hours, get ripped, and spend too much money... the really social people... the majority smoke!

out of the guys i go out with.... there are at least 15 (different groups)... only 2 of them don't smoke.

one guy quit a week after i did as well.

LOL....smoking is an addiction, and I'll quit when I want to not because other people tell me to.

As for being cool, who knows....what I can tell you is that it is good for business. It is social, and I have made many new business contacts through the smokers corner...

Meetings with non-smokers = boardroom and working lunch to do business.

Meetings with smokers = outside lunch and much more personal affair and socializing.

I rarely socialize outside the office with any non-smokers.
