So I made a firetruck come today..

Yeah, but not on purpose.

Low down of story.

Current customers of ours moved to a new industrial unit. It previous was monitored by an ADT system. The previous tennants told ADT they were moving out, and to cancel the monitoring. Something went wrong in the communication, and today when I was farting around with the system seeing if I could program it, the system went into panic.

I didn't think anything was up, so I went about my business, and then 10 min later firetruck arrived at the door, and I had to explain to them what happened, and it was a big misunderstanding.

What a waste of 30 mins.

I've had similar problems with security systems. When im doing a service change you have to cut the power. But many times you also need to relocate the bell service in order to accomadate the larger electrical panal. So the combo of no power to the alarm and no phone link to the alarm makes them think something is wrong!

next time just open the alarm panel and take out one of the 2 leads for the Bell (Sirnen)

Just unscrew the + and take it out, no annoying siren, and your set.

i was working at a gas station, when i was younger. I guess my *** accidently pushed the panic button. I must have leaned on it, re-stocking the cigarettes.

Next thing I knew, the police were at the gas station, and I had no idea why, until they told me what I probably did.

Happened to me to.. except I was an idiot and wondered what this switch was under the table.. I kept flicking it on and off to figure out what it was. Figured out it was in case you are getting robbed. But usually its a button so I was confused.
