Just talk to the teacher. Say it slipped your mind, you've been busy lately but thats not an excuse, its totally my fault, is there anything I can do to rectify it, perhaps write it with an academic penalty.
That's worked for me before, depends if your prof is cool, really. Most of mine appreciate honesty so it's worked before.

just say someone in your family came back from asia... you were preventing the ****** of potential SARS virus... so you stay'd home! hahaha
your best way could just do a fake dr. note. this is the procedure
1. goto doctor, get a note for today
2. somehow get a white paper block the doctor writting (everything), photocopy the note in high equality
3. get someone with messy writing (doctor's writing haha), just freestyle something really messy
4. forge the signature to 80% (make it natural instead of accurate... an authentic signature never go exactly the same every time)
5. done! (90% of the time, the school won't call the doctor to confirm unless you have notes often...)

Sorry for the lack of update! I went to see two doctors. It was the second doctor who was nice enough to write me a proper sick note. The first doctor I talked to had this attitude, and was being a real pain.
Now I just gotta give the note to my prof.
