So I went urban exploring today
First off for those of you that dont know what urban exploration is go here: www.infiltration.org . Well Today I had to go to pickering and ajax to sell/buy some parts so I decided hey, I why not stop off and see my friend who lives in whitby as well. So we go and pick him up and decide to go and check out the whitby psychiatric institue. (for give the misspelling), once again for those of you that dont know about whitby pscyh check out the link above. Well the first thing we noticed when we got there was there there was a 4 or 5 story office building that was abandoned and had the door wide open so we went and checked that out first. The office building was pretty cool, we got to go up to the attic and roof and see lots of old machinery and the like. After we left that building we proceded onto the whitby psych which is right next door. The first buidling we checked out was pretty cool, but the second one where the housed the generator was somthing else. There was a gas powered generator with an engine over 6 feet tall, and probably 15 feet long, it was like a giant inline 16 or something, pretty awsome. We then proceded upto the catwalk that goes around the celing, as we were walking around there we nocticed that there as a racoon trapped in the empty coal basin, it looked pretty said and it kept reaching out to us so we decided to help the litte guy out buy getting a piece of wire and pulling him up. We werent to sure weather or not this would work but sure enough the racoon grabbed on and we pulled him up a good 20 feet to a piece of scafolding that lead to the roof. After that we moved onto another building where we actually bumped into some very well prepard urban explorers packing flashlights, cameras, walkie talkies, etc. As I was talking to the one gentlemen I asked him if he knew where the infamous morgue was and he then lead us to it. So we went down into the basement which in most places was pitch black and we proceded down the shaft where we then found what was left of the morgue, it had space for four bodies and the pull out drawers were still there. I should mention that its believed by many that the morgue area is haunted, though we saw no ghosts on this particular day though it was still creepy. After that we decided to get into the top floors of the building but it was all boarded up. no matter though as me and my friend had just bought a set pf pry bars from sears which we quickly grabbed from the car and proced to use to pry the wood covering the doors. Once we got inside it was pretty awsome, we saw old gurneys, a room full of old medical supply boxes, many small solitary rooms, and one very strange door that we spent a good 20 minuted prying open only to find a couple empty rooms on the other side it was weird though because the door wasnt locked or nailed or anything but it just wouldnt budge until we broke the door frame. We were actually hoping to find an incenerator but we never did. Anyway as you can tell by my long azz post I get pretty amped by this kinda stuff so if anyway is looking to join me I will likely be going back next weekend.

damm you for not calling me out.
word to the wise though, try and refrain from breaking **** as eventually it ruins the experience and the site for other explorers. Once stuff starts getting vandalized, the management starts making it harder for people to go.

I live out the way of the psych. I used to drive through the grounds on the weekends when those cottages where in use. Each building was a different "problem" inside.
Now my work supplies them with all of their meat needs.
Also police from all over Ontario and some of the Northern States use the empty large buildings and a few cottages for SWAT and special training.

You should go during the night, You can be in the tunnels for hours, caus they lead every-where, but if your in there too long and start coughing it's time to leave. That place is filled with Asbestos(not sure of spelling )
