I have heard people gain weight after quitting. But breath easier is definitely a good thing.

When you stop smoking, your brain and body begin the process of healing itself. Sometimes at the beginning of the quitting process, people can experience symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. The most common symptoms include:

Irritability, frustration, anger or anxiety
Difficulty in concentrating
Restlessness
Increased appetite
Problems falling asleep or frequent waking
Slight depression or feeling down

The symptoms are VERY real.. with me they lasted a good 5 or 6 days. but then things got exponentially better. I was more cheery, quick witted, smiley and energetic...

For some reason when I quit smoking I also stopped procrastinating too. go figure.. I think the chemicals have a lasting effect your mental state

I digress, congrats!

then you were not a real smoker to begin with

real addiction as opposed to recreational smoking runs very deep

Good Job with quitting, now you won't smell like a foul bastard like the rest of the smokers!!! and hey, yer breath won't smell like a fresh pile of **** anymore!!! and you will be able to run up a flight of stairs without panting like an old man who just **** his depends... again, the smell!!! Your teeth will become less yellow again, as well as your fingers... and you'll save money!!! Holy ****, why does anyone smoke????!!!!!
