no such thing as a CRT projection, its one or the other. Biggest CRT is the 40" Sony XBR

theres a crt projection for sure lol, who told you theres no such thing. Before DLP's and LCD's, the projection tv's were based on CRT platform.

It could be your bulb, just get it checked out by a repair shop, you can find one near your house at yellowpages.ca.

Kodan Electronics is one of them.

Good Luck!

I have a 53 inch Sony rear projection, what are you talking about they dont exist? From back in the day when Plasmas cost 15,000 and only lasted like 6,000 hours or something.

Anyway, where did you buy your TV from? Still under Warrenty? Or extended?

Could be a power problem, I know when my power supply on my computer was going, my monitor did that cause it couldn't power my video card. Perhaps there is something similar inside your TV. Dont really know much about them to be honest.

CRT's don't have a bulb. Your best bet is to call the sony repair center.

If your standby light flashes but your tv won't turn on it shouldn't be too expensive a repair. The only time those tvs are done is when the colours start to change. Thats what the repair man told me when it happened to my 15 year old Pioneer rear projection. It sounds like a power supply issue, and thats not really the most expensive thing to fail.
