Special Edition Celica's

Seduce your senses
The 2003 Toyota Celica Special Editions are irresistible. These racing inspired cars look as though they were born on the track. From the redesigned bumpers to the TRD spoiler and skirting, every detail screams performance.

With two models to choose from, you can get all the excitement you can handle. Get your heart pounding in the authoritative TRD GT with 140 hp and a 5-speed transmission painted Silver Streak Mica or for pure sensory overload the TRD GT-S with 180 hp and a 6-speed transmission in Carbon Blue will accelerate your spirit in no time at all. These cars come decked out with a colour keyed interior, 6-speaker 200 watt Panasonic MP3 sound system, keyless entry, and much more

a celica coming stock with 180 hp........ and TRD goodies on it?

I'd get the reg one if I got a Celica. And then I'd pour the money I saved into performance parts. (TRD of coarse)

im not a big fan of the accord/tsx....

they had the special edition celica's at the autoshow...... and sitting in the drivers seat...... wow

feels like your in a fighter cockpit........ everything is close, and within easy reach...... you sit really low down in supportive bucket seats.....the cluster is very eye appealing......

i think i know what my next car will be when/if i can afford it

Ever sit in an S2000? Pardon me, but I'm a Honda man. Only other car I'd drive is a Toyota (but not Celica) - either a truck or ... like an Echo Celicas are neither too fast nor too good looking, nor too affordable. Kinda like a used Integra

I have to admit Celicas are nice, especially when lowered. But the TRD package isn't worth it, its more visual than performance.

Three letters R S X and add the Type-S. Cheaper than the TRD Celica by almost $2000.00.

Six speed; 200HP.......Need I say more?

Ya, the RSX is nice, but it's still a performance luxury factory automobile. I like bare bones, no frills, *** kicking performance!

I went to the dealership and saw the TRD Celica first hand.

I read Toronto Star's newspaper article a couple weeks back on the Celica TRD model...

It's nothing more than a body kit, a spoiler that looks like a bench and 17" rims.

You guys noticed the manufacturers cashing in BIG TIME on this car craze going on, right... selling kitted out stock cars for outrageous prices!!! The only FACTORY cars that get mad props still are:

2004 WRX STi (though quite ugly by design)
2004 Mitsu Lancer Evo
2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4
2003 Ford Focus SVT
2002 Honda Civic SiR

I'm sure I missed some, but these are the ones that are HEAD AND SHOULDERS above their next-level-down model siblings.

I would think toyota would have been better off only offering that package with the GTS version...

I have driven both cars extensively and must say the GTS is no slouch..

Personally I prefer the 180 hp Matrix XRS...

Same motor..

More room..

There is also talk of throwing the 180HP motor in the Carolla!!(sp)

Thanks for the neverending testdrives Plaz...

Its is being seriously discussed in Toyota's product planning department...

I have heard that there are one or two prototypes in existence already..

See if I can dig up more dirt on the subject...

The TRD is a package offered on the GTS. It isn't standard.

And the Matrix XRS is a Corolla... Incase I didn't say it right... Matrix == Corolla. Same platform.
