Sprite commercial

Anyone seen the new Sprite "Lady Racer" commercial? This is getting to be too much. Seems as though everyone, and everything is jumping on the import bandwagon, even if what they represent has nothing to do with the sport.

Saw the commercial just now on BET. Look for a purple 6th gen hatch with a Feels style widebody.

I guess you guys should sell you cars and buy a Yugo then. I heard they come with this cool option called "rear window defrost/heater". Great for those days when you have to push the car when it breaks down in winter. At least your hands will stay warm.

I guess you can call all people that customize their cars bandwagoners too then.......It stated with the first Ford Model "T", back in the early 1900's. So why complain?

Just enjoy it.:working:

Well since I can't seem to find a Civic/CRX in my pricerange, it looks as though I might be turning to domestic, at least until the spring/summer. Looking at getting a Bonneville SSE. Can you say "pimp mobile"? hehe. If I find one i'm gonna pimp that car out. Anyone know if you can just bolt on the supercharger from the newer SSEI model, considering it's basically the same 3.8 motor? How much do you think I can pick one of these up at a junkyard for? If I wanted the 8 way leather seats, can i just find those at a junker and swap them in, or am i gonna need to do some major rewiring?

bah, i seriously think i'm losing some interest in the whole "import scene". as soon as i graduate and start working i'm going to look into getting the 350Z or a G35 Coupe! sure having a modded car is nice but it just doesnt compare to a true sports coupe

...but, I bet ya if you bought one of those cars, you'd still be tempted to modify it in one way or another. Also, I believe that Nissan/Infiniti are considered imports as well.

Regarding the 'bandwagon' topic:

I personally, couldn't give a rat's *** what type of cars everyone else drives or what anyone thinks of mine. Perhaps there are people out there who think that I jumped on a 'bandwagon'... oh well, so be it. I bought my car because I like it, period.

just my opinion/s...

i dont think i'll be modding up a 350Z or G35 coupe all that much. maybe just throw on a free-flowing intake and QUIET exhaust and that's about it. nothing fancy like rims, bodykit, turbo, lowering, racing seats. internal engine mods etc. IMO, those cars are already perfect from the factory and modding it will only ruin it.

i already had my fun with my SiR...maybe i'm just gettin old

btw, i'm not knocking on anyone for buying an import and modding it up. i just think the whole scene is played out and getting a little old. that's just my opinion on it.

Actually I'm thinking about getting my freind's gf some SGR gear for her ride for Chanukah or something. She got a 5th gen Si coupe this fall, and isn't letting me mod it with her bf who's a mechanic. She wants to keep it stock, but I think there's something we can do about that. How do you become a member? I wanna get her some plate frames, maybe some stickers, etc.

BTW, I'm going to look at a 1990 Beretta GTZ tommorrow night. I know how you guys feel about domestic, but I can't find myself a Honda in my pricerange. Anyways, it's got 135k, stick, custom interior (owner does interiors for a profession), wants around 2 grand for it. My bro says these cars are natorious for problems though. Any advice? Is insurance gonna be a killer?

whatever, the way insurance companies are going and the way cops are reporting modded cars to the insurance companies, my modded SiR could easily have equal if not HIGHER insurance rates than a G35. right now i'm risking super high rates if my insurance company finds out about my mods. and i'm sure in the near future people are going to have a hell of a time getting a modded car insured.

edit>> just did a quick online quote and was quoted $6000 on the SiR versus $6800 per year on a 350Z. and that's on a STOCK SiR. once they find out it's modded, that rate will go thru the roof.
