the stage 2 isnt here yet in canada and cannot be purchased from mopar canada trust me i know.
they have stage 2 completed and ready to go in the states as testing was recently finished on it.
stage one is larger injectors and ecu I believe
stage 2 dont know
stage 3 also involves lowering as I was told by the manager at scarborotown chrysler
stage 2 has said to make potentially 260 at the wheels

it is avaliable dont get me wrong BUT its not coming from mopar canada its coming from the states and the dealer told me that they just finished final testing on it but its ok it would be a fun car to beat around in but its still a neon body with dodge badges

I kinda like the front of the SRT-4. The sides and rear are ugly. The car looks a bit like a beatle from the sides cuz it's so round.. and the rear.. I'm not a fan... but like I said.. I kinda like the front

im wondering where you test drove one...not to be rude but dealers will not let you test drive them as each dealer only got 2 of them.
in terms of the redline I am not sure I was supposed to go into the dealer but I got busy so Im gonna try and make it in tonight.
when you say talon tsi motor sorry bro but thats a mitsubishi and although I have nothing against any DSM motor, the mitsubishi isnt known to be the most reliable one.
the reason for the lower redline makes sense I will try to explain. With higher compression engines you can have a higher redline, those with a higher redline when speaking of production cars are usually those that are N/A. Primse example would be the F20C it has a high compression with a 9k redline however it is still possible to run FI (boost) with a centrifugal style supercharger or with any custom turbo set up dont get me wrong though...the boost levels are small often 6-8 psi if you have proper tuning then perhaps 9psi but making new fuel maps for higher compression engines running boost is a bitch
the reason for the lower redline is for the boost. It makes pretty decent power for a 4 cyl but regardless its not the hottest thing out there. despite this in my opinion it is obviously better than the turbo mazdaspeed protege. one could only assume that with the new ecu included in the stage 1 that there could be deviation with its current redline.
let me put it this way and i think that by saying this it should explain everything. but dont take it the wrong way take it for what it is. if you are the type of individual who prefers speed or having a sleeper but doesnt have a large budget then this is a good car out of the box. if you prefer body kits and just cruising then maybe this isnt the car or perhaps it is. this vehicle is geared towards those in the civic/cavalier/sunfire market. companies are starting to realize the potential for building performance cars from the factory that offer additional factory upgrades.
would i buy it over a civic? yes. would i worry about the reliability of the vehicle yes. why? because its in its first production year and to my understanding they are really limiting its quantities so its hard to tell what problems could develope over the course of 1 year.
if i wanted speed and style i would probably go with a VW.

i obviously know why it has a lower redline, as for reliability its a chrysler..not just a first production year. vw speed and style??? maybe audi..vw are logs.. my friends brother acros the street has a srt...wasnt to impressed when he took me a drive..id rather spend the money on an all motor b18c5 5th or 6th gen..
