Street Racing...School Assignment

Hey guys,

I'm doing a paper on street racing as a subculture in the city of Toronto.

I am curious if anyone is willing to help me out as i need to intetrview some people that were heavily involved in teh scene before it was getting all this media hype bs. Ie. some modders that use to head to the Rona at the 400 and 7 to chill in the parking lot, show and shine their car and then take out some stuff on the streets. We all know it went down. lol

So plz if you are interested and willing to help, respond to the post or PM me. thanks a lot guys.

p.s. names can be left anonymous if required :P

there is no such thing as street racing in Canada let alone Toronto.

its ricers galore driving on the major streets, reving their engines, and pulling it for three seconds under a bridge to echo their exhaust.

i s.hit on the canadian car scene, there is none here. whats sad people here get ticketed for their rice cars for no reason as their cars are slow anyways.lol

there are those few with fast built cars, but common who has raced one of those?

there are most def. races that take place
just because you don't know about them doesn't mean they don't exist.

OP- What exactly are you looking for (information wise). Post some questions, you'll probably get some answers.

yea same goes for Aliens, just because you don't seem them dosen't mean they don't exists, and your point dude?

my point is there is no REAL street racing in Canada, and i have been to these spots in vancouver, hamilton, london, and woodbridge, maybe i have seen better elsewhere thats why.

seriously man, there is a huge underground street race scene...whether you admit to believing it or not...and its not civics, its real powerhouse cars...mustangs, cameros, classic muscle cars, various imports and even some guys come out in exotics...these races are not unlike the stuff you see in ontario california

lol, where is this?

i thought you guys are talking about street racing, not underground.

i do know few people in this area who do do underground stuff, i.e corvettes, supras and so on, but like i said its not huge or common, very rare.

and what you are talking about is not street racing in the sense everyone can do it, its highly organized Rich people ish, i used to just go see these kinds of races, but its not common.

si ponz is talking about street racing generally, i admit the word street racing may not be same for everyone as it is to me or somone else, lol epecially since the police have gotten it twisted, but what my point is on a generic bases, Street racing is dead compared to other countries, and its true, and doing an assignment on it is good, but difficult, i did it for my highschool project as well, even then it was hard to find races to film.

i made a dvd too, but it was sad, really, not much action.

as for the expensive ferraries and all, thats everywhere, where ever there is money, and people with such cars have the money to organize and have such equipment.

street racing to me, is roaming in your fast car, racing a car at a light, and if its fast or impressive, tell the driver to meet up at a spot, and then plan races down to another spot, thats how real street racing works.Or in my experiance thats how it was. and i don't remember the last time that happened here in the past 4 years.

street racing is racing on the street...whether you meet up at a coffee shop, plan it for months and meet at some super secluded street when there is no moon and the police ball is happening...it is what it is

the ricer ish that happens these days with kids leaving timmies ripping it down the street to be cool isnt street racing

I'm older now and I dont hang out with these people for various reasons but I know people with 10-12second cars that go out almost nightly all summer to race...its not big like california for obvious reasons...our weather sucks and we are smarter than americans haha

LOL ^^, thats true.

ps:i do the same thing, i go out every night just cruise or rip it down somewhere far.lol

street racing to ME is dead here from what it was too. And im not just talking about california, even NY has a live scene and places in Europe and Gulf and Asia, we just or i think polititians in Canada take it the wrong way. plus there are lots of ****ty drivers in Canada.lol

as for street racing, lol i know its anything racing on the street, lol but i wouldn't call 16 second rice burners racing on the streets, street racing, that would be ricing.lol

anyways whatever, if anyone has details help si ponz out. guy needs to get his assignment done.lol

Last summer theres always small groups at factorys on sat nights. Just gota find them, and even if you do find them. it'll be weird for you to drive on up and start chilling. Am sure theres alot of people out there that meet up for a bit, give it a few runs then head off to a different locations. And when people do race, i think they wanna keep it on the downlow, and not have like 20+ cars follow them everywhere.
