Street racing is never going to stop. It's been going on for years now, and when i mean years i mean way back to the 50's. The only difference now is theres more people in the city and stupid movies like fast and furious put a spot light onto it.It's what made all the sport compacts look like there the only cars that are built for street racing.

you need to show the public this is not the case.Do mods to your vehicle that are legal, have shows that promote thats your against street racing. Make people stop looking at compacts as race cars!

Naw it was the same back then, except there was alot less city and more back country roads.Or they'd cruise up to the drag strip in georgetown..yes you heard right there was a drag strip in georgetown back in the day.I'm trying to get pics of this strip from a customer of mine who use to race there.

It used to be called Golden Horseshoe Dragway for a few years, and then Toronto International Dragway. The property is now home to a couple of dozen large country estate homes.

The place was about 4 miles east of Acton, 5 miles west of Georgetown, and the noise on drag nights was loud enough that it could easily be heard in town at night.

And despite having that dragstrip there and all nice and handy, there was still plenty of street racing happening in the area. Georgetown used to be called Drag City, not for the drag strip, but for the street racing that used to happen all along Guelph Street and on Rubber Road (10th sideroad) every night.

All those people who think that street racing would be reduced if a local drag strip was available are just kidding themselves.

i think guns is a bigger problem.

or clubs where there are openly run by organized crime with cops in on the take.

anyone familiar with the club scene should be able to score any kind of drug at anytime during the weekend.

why don't they do something about that. something that might affect more than 0.0005% of the population.

drunk driving is at a pretty good level now, is it not?

i think it's stupid how early ride goes home, they should be out till 4:00am... it's not hard to be drunk downtown, shuffle to spadina, grab some new ho king and head back once the popo are back in their pens.

i guess the gun violence still isn't as profitable as catching street racers (in the cops perspective).

again, unwanted attention is the main cause to pullovers... just mod your car for your joy, not to show off light to light... plus, show offs lead to car stolen... don't complain if your car get stolen just because you like to show off your ICE and your engine mods.

i say, they should educate drivers more with tougher driving exams.... also, the "seniors" should be look into as well as there are many accidents due to seniors being uncareful or too cocky because they feel like they are too experienced..

i think they should try to put more effort into controlling illegal clubs and gun violence... even though those issues were not complaint by the public yet or haven't been made into a serious thing by the media... it is the media and the public causing cops to think streetracing is the major concern and plus its profitable... only if adults realize how they are in danger by guns and their kids are in danger by illegal clubs.. then adults/media will make a fuss about those problems, then public/media pressure will push the cops into those issues

=)
