It's bull****, this will now throw off my final government test date which means I don't get my raise when I was supposed to. All becuase these idiot heads want more money and smaller classes. My class is 24 people and thats perfect, I don't see a problem there. As for money they should not get a penny more, they already make $50 dollars an hour

i don't believe in striking. if you are good at something, and you're not getting what you deserve, quit whining and go somewhere else.
striking is for people who are garbage and can't do better elsewhere.
it's like telling your GF you aren't gonna sleep with her anymore unless she starts giving you head more often.
you might win, but is that really a healthy relationship?

This strike is offensive to all students . I do understand the purpose of unions, but I think college teachers are abusing their bargaining position. They shouldn't protest under the guise of helping students. If they want more benifits/ wages/ less work, they should just be honest and not pretend like they care about class sizes for the student's sake. This is insulting everyone's intelligence.
University class sizes can get up to 200 students in a lecture hall. I am not saying this is preferable way to teach, but I went to Mohawk College, and I can say class sizes were not bursting at the seams.

they were talking about this strike as far bak as last year but the teachers never got what they wanted...
my prof is the union rep at Niagara College (welland campus) and he told us that if the strike lasts longer then the federal goverment feels it should, then they will overpower the provincial govn't and force the teachers to work...
so one way or another, we might not see a end to the salary/class size "problem".
i personally don't want to miss more than a week b/c in my program all we do is 1project after another and a week is like 6 missed projects...

i was talking to a prof.
he told me that every year when he signs a contract, they try to slip in a few changes from the previous year and makei t look exactly the same.
- definately NOT the right way to do things
and yea, i also dont agree with the strike, if u got a problem go somewhere else. i have so many profs that are perfectly happy with their job and dont whine and cry

ya i'm ok with 1 week, after that its like **** this, i'm paying for this and will I get a refund, nope. so get your asses back to teaching. I'm in last semester for emergency and disaster management/private investigator...so its really pissing me off.
1 week, i can catch up on some work do so no biggie, after that its crap. extended the semester is their only solution to it. although i'm not too worried about loosing the year, they will be legislated back to work.
