Student Aid ! $$$$

hey trying to help a friend outt..!

Got a friend who all she wants to do is go to school!
and is accepted into her program
BUT
does not have the $$$ for tuition.

Osap is out of the question because the school shes going to doesnt have it...

&& shes applied for line of credits but has NO consigners so its very unlikley shes gonna get authorized for one.

she needs like 30 grand

does anyone know any other type of student aid or special programs who help students out financially for education??

any help on information or ideas is greatly appreciated!

a line of credit for 30 Grand is way too much of a liability to banks for a student regardless of cosigners. I suggest she looks into a personal loan.

line of credit for students is around 8grand a year for upto 4years at prime plus 2 interest rate and while at school all you owe is the interest on whats borrowed

I got it with no co-signer

her school doesn't qualify for OSAP?? ... i thought all real schools qualified for OSAP...

either way there's not much else she can do, call up a loan shark... err broker they can set you up, but beware high interest rates etc... those bad credit/no credit lending guys...

maybe work for a year or two to save up some dough then go to school...

yea, bloody private dental schools and such dont fall under the whole OSAP thingy...sucks and their so expensive but they usually do offer a financial aid to those that qualify

ahh cuz it's private... that explains it...

yeah OSAP only works for publicly supported institutions i think...

best of luck to her... without a co-signer it will definitely be a challenge

OSAP does have a private sector to it. I know people who have use it for no name schools. Double check.

yea dunno what shes gonna do since theres no osap..
i thought shed get accepted for a line a credit by her self since she has good credit and a great job now. but the fact that she wasn't going to be working anymore while she was at school was the deciding factor

im gonna get her to check out that fincial aid through oxford thing though thanks Zyepher.

what are the requirments that banks look for in co signers anyway?
