Tax season, most $$ back on refund?

Anyone do their own taxes whether it be with software like QuickTax etc, or manually on paper....or do you take it to H&R block or another place to get it done by the pros?

If anyone has do both, have you noticed a bigger refund with either? I was talking to someone and he said with H&R block he got about $200 more refunded because the guy knew some other ways to get the most refund back since he was still in school.

Is this true?

I always use Quick Tax I usually get a 1000 back. Not sure about this year yet cause I still don't have my T4's. But one year I used HR Block I had to pay I was pissed.

with h&r block do you pay a flat fee or proportional to how much you get back?

I have done all three, I prefer taking mine to someone, less headache and he knows all the new tax law changes. From doing it myself, using software, I prefer using someone. I do not use H&R, have someone I use out in Oshawa.

my co worker had a tax return check mailed to him for 1.1 million dollars. but they sent it to the wrong place because it was some radio station's check. i think it was CHFI. he went around braging it to everybody at work saying he got a big check and blah blah blah. anyways, the guy came to collect the check and my co worker was hoping to get some kinda money out of it but you know what they gave him? a mug and a t shirt for returning a 1.1 million dollar tax return check . damn, 1.1 million dollars just for taxes.

Going to do it myself. I suppose something around 800 to a grand. Going to save most of it.

i use my parents accountant, only $20, not sure how much i'm actually getting but i'm told it will be a nice one due to how much i get taxed at work... a buddy of mine just wrote his test for being a chartered accountant to so i could probably score his services for free if i was real cheap
