TCC EVENT: Cruise to Bluemountain for Night Skiing/Boarding

To sort of spice things up a bit with this horrible weather I'm gathering interest for a cruise to Blue Mountain on Februrary the 12th (Saturday). This will be the first of many events we'll be organizing this year.

this is open to all members, paying or non. As an insentive to join, non members can sign up for paid membership for $20 on this day only (must attend the cruise). Money and information can be given to myself or another admin.

Specific information are as of follows:

meet time: approx 12:30-1:15PM
leave time: 1:30PM SHARP
meet place: Timmie's on Steeles just off of 400, here's the map
arrival time: between 3:30PM-4PM
bring: money, your own equip (if you have), season's pass (if you have), FRS', food, water/drinks, warm clothing

lift ticket only: $29 + tax (4:30PM-10:00PM)
rental only: ski - $19 + tax, snowboard - $24 + tax
lift ticket + lesson: $39 + tax (both skiing and snowboarding)
lift ticket + lesson + rental: $54 for ski, $59 for boards + tax

if we can get enough members there's a possibility we can get a group rate, but it's only a slight discount. For more information about Blue Mountain and their facilities click here

once we've determined a set location, leaving time will be EXACT, no exceptions. Once we arrive at Blue Mountain it WILL be busy, and everyone is pretty much free to do as they please. If you need assistance with locating the chalet and finding out where you have to pay/get rentals etc, I will be glad to help.

Finally if anyone has an alternative route that we could take that is more "scenic" or something that would better accomodate a large group of cars please let me know, I usually take the most direct route (north on 400, exit stayner to 26west).

suggestions and comments welcome, but please don't ***** this thread.. I'll start the roll call

ok.. well I need to know a route ASAP, or else we're just taking the 400 and then 26 ... Gallagher what issues do you have exactly with airport road? is it curvy? potholes? and kane2k pm me with the route from hwy 10... also if you're coming and are 100% committed please put your name on the roll call.. and maybe if you have your own equip or need rentals/lesson's etc...

also remember, those that are not paid members and are attending this cruise, it's only $20 for the yearly membership.. this day ONLY ... take advantage of this great offer now

Ed, the way I usually go from hamilton is QEW Toronto --> 407--> 400--> exit off a (forget the name of the road) ---> turn right --->left ----> right----> left...

Approx. time - 2-3 hrs from hamilton MAX.

Its all backroads, Hwy. 10 is a road tht follows the 400, I will hit that road once, but then get off it quickly.....

reason why I will not go on airport road is because i was driving their and I seen someone cut off another person and that car went flying off a cliff and I seen a person come outta the window and smash the ground, total deaths 3.......all right infront of me.... Their is no way I will go on that road..... If people wanna follow me and others go on airport, be my guest, no way am I going on airport....
