Good people.

Just when you think society has gone to hell, this will give some hope for the rest of us. As some of you may know I have been looking for a wireless router for a little while now. I have been on eBay with no great deals, so I decided to respond to an ad I saw in the Toronto Star for a “Brand new in box” Linksys WRT54G wireless router. He was asking XX for it. Although that was still a pretty good price considering it was cheaper than the cheapest Reg priced ones I saw, and even cheaper then the units on sale after rebates, but being my cheapness I decided to bid on a few items on eBay to see if I was the lucky winner. After loosing a few auctions and seeing that even the wired version of the linksys went for over $35 CDN I decided to spend a little more and get this unit anyways.

I emailed him back and said I would take it but I would need it shipped since I had a busy schedule with school and wasn’t able to make it to T.O. to pick it up, he agreed. When asked what method of payment should we go about I mentioned Paypal first since I use it a lot and was easiest for me. He didn’t have paypal but as I mentioned that he remembered something, he had to pay off an auction he had won, and the seller insisted he use paypal (even though he was originally going to send a money order, but the seller wanted payment ASAP). When he heard I had paypal he asked if I would want to pay for his auction, and in doing so he would foot the rest of the balance for the router, meaning I had to pay $27 USD for his auction and even though it wasn’t the same as the amount he originally wanted for the router, he would take that hit because I was doing him a favour for paying for his auction.

I was a little nervous as I didn’t know if this was legit or not, because he could have easily just let me pay for his auction and not send out the router. Well 1 day after he said he sent it out, I received the router. Like he stated it is still in the shrink rap and is brand spanking new.

In the end I ended up picking up a Brand New linksys Wireless G router for around $35 CDN. I took a chance and could have got burned, but my trust in people was true.

So Joel, if you read this, your one stellar individual, hopes the best in the future to you.

Matt you must of really trusted him (even though it was 27$), personally I've been burned so many times by buyers/sellers that I wouldn't of done it. It's nice to hear there are still good people like that around here.

I agree with you Matt. Compare to the "bad" people, the amount of good people just out number them by miles. You want to be trusted, then you need to trust others.

like i bought and antenna booster from ebay for like 1.99
the guy said he shipped it, but i never got it.
i told him i never got it and he was like oh well i guess the mail lost it...he was a powerseller too.

if your a power seller you can afford to send be another item especially if its 2 bucks

Way to many liar's and cheaters out there, its not even worth trusting anyone..except when Some lady in a new jag poped her tire on the highway and I stoped and put the spare on...the lady gave me 100 bucks (Y)

damn you're lucky. I stopped for a mid-aged lady once in a accord I believe, and I changed her tire and she said thank you and left. lol.. Oh well, it still felt pretty good to help out

i was walking at the time and couldent catch up but there were flames comeing up from the front jackpoint ???

i have tattoos so that makes me untrustwearthy aparently

its mesed up 2 me i have tattoos and ears piersed and u get no respect from older generation they are allways on edge and think u are going 2 rob them or something i wil admit i look prety shady sometimes and get asked 2 drugs all the time but im just ya average jo i dont rob people i dont sell drugs i just live life and like tattoos
