Today's rant!
Don't you just hate it when you decide to work on your car and something just doesn't go right? You break something, lose a part or just forget something.
Well today being a nice day and all, I decided to start taking some of the aftermarket parts off my car and replaceing the stock parts.
I was at Image Honda today getting the brakes on my 03 serviced, so I picked up a shifter rebuild kit. It consists of new rubber O-rings, bushings, nut and bolt, some spacers and a shiny new bearing piece.
So I jack up the car and disconnect the shiftage. It was kind of a pain becasue the exhaust gets in the way, but I managed. I take everything apart and give it all a good cleaning with Varsol. I replace all of the worn pieces in my OEM shifter, but when I was re-installing it into the linkage, I tore the dust boot that covers the ball of the shifter. DAMN!
No biggie. I head up to Sterling Honda for a new boot. Guess what? They have to order it and it won't be in untill tommorow afternoon.
So now my car sits up on jackstands, shifterless and undriveable until Thursday when I can fix it.

seizing a bolt and then trying to drill it out and find a bolt that will fit, or retapping the hole is by far the biggest pain in the ***... although i know the feeling, the other day i had to sit in my driveway for 3 hours so i could wait for my mom to come by and let me use her car to go to CT and get a bolt...

i have the best one
this was on my piece of **** 89dx
i wanted to change my break pads
BAD IDEA
first...the last time i did whatever to my car i totally overtorqued one of the lug nuts...ended up snapping a stud trying to get it off
(note to self: if you get pissed off by something like that, STOP WORKING ON YOUR CAR IMMEDIATELY!)
So, I continued. I meant to take the nut off that secures the calliper, but my mind was elsewhere. Next thing you know, there's brake fluid all over the driveway. Yup, that's right, I loosened the bleeder screw.
Result: Had to drive 10km/hr for about 3km to the nearest Canadian Tire to have a new stud put in and get my brakes bled.
$180 bill.

hell that happens to me all the time.......rarely on cars though....like I can break apart a whole room while trying to put my pants on when i am drunk..lol...i put one leg in, fall backwards and land sideways on my bed.....bounce off the end and knock over my lamp....pick it up to realize its hot then drop it again shattering the bulb.......get a broom to sweep it up but knock over my wayne gretzky bobble head in the process somehow.....it lands on my keyboard and breaks 3 keys off....so i stand there for a second shaking in anger cuz everything is going wrong....i take like 3 steps forward and trip over my alarm clock cable and knock it onto the floor..i get pissed off...kick the alarm clock into the wall...the wall has a hole in it...and there goes a very interested night.,....so u'd better not be angry about something like a shifter!!!...lol

why u cant blead your brakes yaself its easy all u need is some pipe
i used 2 have tropikal fish and u get this thing called a non return valve with the air pump it stops water comeing back down the hose wen u turn the pump off and syfening the tank
get one of them from the fish store like 99cence or somethin and some hose whilst u are there and u dont need a 2nd person just get little clips on the hose so it dosent fall off and put the non return valve on the end of the hose and boom ya done u push the brake and it comes out the end then u let go and no air gets sucked back in its sooo simple
