Top Speed question????

Was trying to hit my top speed today, but everytime I hit 180, another car would be coming, so I would shut it down, then end up running out of room. Does anyone know the top speed of a 92 Civic si Hatch?

Thanks,

Shane

I know that a CX can do 200 km. I've been in lots of cars doing well over the 180 mark and it's not worth the risk of getting caught.

I drive a 2002 Civic LX... 4 AM in the morning.. coming back from 400 & 7 movie theatre.. I'm rushing to get the girls home before it's "too" late.... (lol)... I managed to get to 190 on highway 400 and 403... and the car was able to keep going but I ran out of room.

I'm gonna push it harder next time and see how fast I can get it up too. I'm curious. And I would only do something stupid like this if nobody else is on the road so I only **** myself up and not somebody else's car.

I have a 1998 Civic LX, governer set at just around 190km/hr. I hit it around London on the 401 while the car had only about 10K on it. It's too hard on the engine at that speed for long periods of time. Sport Compact Car has done this in the past, and they had to get skinnier tires to reduce drag...they said oil change after every run!!

NoSpleeny, I gotta ask....if you are doing this at 4AM in the morning...what would be considered "too late"...4:25?

Also NoSpleeny, if you lost it and killed or maimed your passengers, what would you tell their parents? Yeah, I've done stupid things before....but ALWAYS alone. Something to consider.

The car is still stock right now, I wasn't doing it in the rain, but it did start to rain, thats why I stopped. I will bring the car to St.Thomas, but buy that time, I should have a B18B2 in there and possibly a turbo setup. Depends on what kinda deals I can get, and how smart I am with my $$$. So I hope I'll be laying down some respectable times!!!

ive ran my prelude out to the 235-240KMH speeds when i had a ecu in it without a govenor, thats fast, i did it on a nice strech of 401... wouldnt suggest that to anyone... things go by really quick at 240K... sad part is there was still pedal left in 5th gear...

now im running a governed ecu, it tops out at 180KMH, and i hit that in 4th gear.. hehehe...

Bah, it's all heresay It won't hold up in court. Don't worry, they couldn't think any less of us already. They think we are all spoiled brats with rich parents and a heavy foot. That's why we get harassed all the time. When they stop charging us tax money for roads, then I'll stop using the roads like I own them...because I partially do own them...so there. Well, that's what I think anyways....I don't drive like that anymore, like I said, this was done when the car was still almost new. I've done well over 240km/hr before that CrazyKid, I know what you're talking about. I say well over, since the needle was burried, and the speedo only went to 240 but the factory speedo is too inpercise at that speed to really tell how fast I was going. It felt too fast and very dangerous, that's all I know.

Id like too know the top speed too. Ive never toped it out. I think it would do 250 no prob. Ive stopped close one time because its too dangerous and risky. The car feels too light to maintian control past 230.
