Topic : new vs old cars... and why?
OK guys lets start this off,
i noticed today driving around Hamilton, alot of Old cars done up, that beign said 60's cars and up.....
now if you have a choice and im sure you all do,
would u work on a project car to make it a daily driver?? or would u go out and purchase someting nice for yourself???
i noticed old guys talk about there old school 350 big blocks etc... and now with dealerships are recognizing the " sport as u may call it " especially with Chrysler kickin *** in every dept.... Charger, Magnum etc.. binging back the old days with the big Hemi's....
what would u do???
is it worth the hassles doing up old cars??? or buying something nice or somewhat newer????

for me id like to have a project which i do... my DA
also with my SIR which pretty much complete for mods.. it just runs perfect for what it is...
but also i kick myself in the *** thinking.. maybe i could be throwing $$$$$ away since " CARZS are the worst investment "
what are your thoughts???

I've always wanted to do an old school car.. something just speaks to me about classic design coupled with modern functionality.. I'm sure I will build one, one day.. something like this is a perfect example.. I've drooled on this car since the day I saw it;
As far as a car being 'the worst investment', I look at it this way, no matter what you'll spend the money on something.. some people buy expensive clothes, some people drink, do drugs, travel, whatever it is.. you gotta do something with your time and money.. just make sure you enjoy it.. what the hell..

the new hemi charger etc is nothing more than a poor attempt to take ignorant idiots money, the car and motor has very little in common with the image that the original car has. Virtually every car manufacturer these days uses hemispherical combustion chambers in their head, including honda. Its nothing more than a marketing ploy to sell their garbage cars. As far as old cars vs new, I prefer older cars especially when it comes to hondas. 2800lbs, FWD and small displacement motors dont mix imo

the only deciding factor here is money...when you're talking about fixing up old cars you can easily dip into the $50-100000 range. If you're only pulling in $30 000 a year...then maybe it's not for you, but sometimes priorities take over.

well believe it or not, my buddy built a low rider form the ground up by going to swap meets, chroming parts like axles, rear diff etc... and his car tallied up to over 100G's
NO lie with PROOF of receipts...
p.s chroming pieces and Golding pieces are very expensive

I prefere old school over imports. and here are my babys. over $60k in them.
