I'm actually thinking about picking up an older Camaro or Mustang to build as a drag car for next season (it is fairly cheap to get power out of these).

cars are horrible investments. That's why I bought property, which pays for itself and still gives me money on top... Eventually it'll be paid off and I can get something nicer than a rotted accord...

If you enjoy cars, then sure go ahead and spend money on it, but always do everything in moderation. You got kids spending their life savings on 89 civics and then selling them for like $4000. It's a waste considering they probably spent like 10Gs + buying the car.

I disagree.
Old cars are never a horrible investment.. We bought that buick about for 2 g's and we could atleast sell it for 8 grand. Another car we bought- 76 caprice 2 door, ac worked all original no rust - for 2500 bucks sold it for 7500...

Just depends on what you buy and if your smart enough to know what can make you money down the road.

2 G's, 8 Grand.........try spending 40 grand on a frame off and only getting around 20 out of it....that's not too smart!
Not that I've done this, but some people do.===bad investment!!
El Cheapo shall rule this land!!

That's why we drive EK's my friend. The suspension and chassis is an old concept, but the engines/body/interior is modern, but still simple.

My car serves me well. I have spent enough on it. But I also save a big chunk of money on the side for something else, so in a sense, I am not that crazy compare to some of the folks out there.
