Al, I think your gas station analogy doesn't work in this case. DVD incident is about people stepping over other being to grab a cheap *** 29.99 machine. Your case is about choosing between 2 gas prices. I don't think this world is crazy enough that people will literally drag you out of your car inorder to take your spot to get cheaper gas or run you over cause that person needs to hurry to the gas station.
Even during the black out, us Canadians are still getting gas in a peaceful way. Although I didn't get gas myself.

I'd prolly try to get a player too, but since I'm smarter I use the intraweb to order my goods therefore avoiding being crushed by people who want furby's lol remember those? Plus you can find crazy deals online, just check out redflagdeals.com. It's all about taking advantage of business depots price match guarantee.

It doesn't matter if it was a DVD player, a gas station, or a stupid doll. ALL people are materialistic....to a point. It was HER choice of being there in the first place, if she had a gun pointed to her head, it would be a different story. If she was stupid enough to be there in the first place, she has no one else to blame but herself.
If you still don't understand....well, then I give up.
By the way, did anyone go to the Ikea midnight madness sale?

Al, I didn't say she should blame Wal Mart for the damage, nor did I say she should seek comfort from the fellow shoppers. But I question the morality of those who step on others to get into a store sale.
I do agree that most people are materialistic (but I wouldn't say ALL, afterall, you haven't met everyone on earth), using merchandises to fulfill our needs and ego. That's why we soup up our cars.
However, we don't soup up our cars by stealing other people's parts nor do we beat up your next door neighbour and grab his car. It is about getting what you want via a safe and lawful route, not about getting things at all causes.
It is alright to join a midnight madness sale, or a x'mas sale, or a boxing day sale. But I disagree about people stepping over others in such incident.
I understand it fully alright. But we each have our own definition towards such topic.

Did you hear the latest on this? The woman who got trampled used to work for Wal-Mart and has collected thousands of dollars from 9 different injury claims against Wal-Mart. Needless to say, WM is going to be investigating this one too.
