You guys are all on cheap medz!
First problem, too many centres. Sundin, O'Neill, Allison, Lindros, Antropov, Stajan, Steen, Pohl, Wilm and Wellwood are all centres.
Sundin needs to have 21+ minutes a night and he can't log that kind of ice time sharing the role of centre with that many players.
O'Neill's performance has been poor for the last 2 months. I'd get rid of him, and he's a player that doesn't like to go to the wing.
Antropov has never had the break out we needed from him, he's slow and has mediocre stick handling and doesn't promise any improvement in the future. Although he can play wing, he's my 2nd choice to get rid of.
Allison is questionable when it comes to speed, but he knows how to play his size. Has posted solid numbers this season and isn't afraid to go to the wing, but he slows down his line. My 3rd choice to lose.
Lindros as great size, great shooting and provides respect and leadership to the team, definately a keeper and a bargain at his salary.
Stajan, Steen and Wellwood are the future of the leafs. And set the tone for a new faster leaf game built on solid speed, skating, handling and shooting. Stajan and Steen are great to go to the wings.
Belfour is a little old, and after not having a last season he needed to get more games in to warm up. Leafs are on a 6 game winning streak and Belfour is responsible for 4 of them.
His numbers are better than average when compared to Goalies across the league.

Allison has the 2nd most points on the team....not many goals, but you need assists to get goals, and Allison provides them. He was never a quick player, but knows what to do with the puck.
Stajan, Steen and Wellwood are great players. Wellwood should see and get alot more icetime than he gets tho...

they are playing ok now, but how long will that last? how long till someone gets injured again?
they need to stick with youth and rebuild already.
stop trying to add a couple vets to make a run for the cup.....
get rid of belfour, domi, oneil, allison, berg
keep the rookies like wellwood, stein, phol, stajan, coliacovo and keep sundin cuz he's still ok and he's a leader in the dressing room, bring some more prospects up and let them develop....
the team might be ****e for a while but giive it time and they'll be the next calgary
just my opinion.....

What is wrong with Allison ? He has the 2nd most points on the team ! I dont understand why everyone thinks Allison is **** because he is slow, speed isn't everything, its puck control, and he has puck control and knows what to do with the puck......
Domi wont leave, he's a leaf for life......If he does, he retires....'
Belfour is going to retire after this year, guaranteed.....if not leafs gotta get rid of him sooner....
Berg should be sent to house league....
O'Neil is a different breed....he plays a totally different style than the leafs....still haven't seen him fight yet or hit anyone good this year.....he's a power forward, but isn't showing it....

Nobody tops the sens. They're not going to choke this year with the new changes. Unbelievable team offence, chemistry, and a solid blue line. They are still pulling off wins without Spezza + Alfie (point leaders) out, which shows the depth of the team. I look forward to Toronto meeting Ottawa in the playoffs so they take whatever pride the leafs feel they have over them. Sure you can beat them in the playoff but you don't do much after that. I hope to see every Canadian team make the playoffs this year...that should be interesting.

Ottawa's thats success is based around having a dedicated LW and RW. Heatley and Alfredson. The could put a post between Heater and Alfie and those guys would still score.
Who does toronto have for wingers? Tucker, Ponikorovsky and Domi... those guys added up don't equal an Alfie or a Heater.
Of the 164 goals ottawa has this season, Alfredson, Heatley and Spezza count for 40% of them. Fischer and Neil have 22 goals between them counting for about 15% When 55% of your goals are ****** amongst 5 players, I don't think you can say the team has a lot of depth.
Hasek has also been key and instrumental in Ottawa's success.
Belfour and Hasek are equal in their ability. The difference is that Hasek is having a better season.
