It's a cool ride for "us"....

But from someone who has a family, I'm not quite sure a vehicle that makes power only above 6,000RPM is a good idea. Especially considering it's designed as a people and goods hauler, how will it be to drive, w/4 people and cargo in the back? I think for situations like that, you want the torque to back you up.

It's definiltely not the smartest vehicle Toyota has produced, but then again, it will sell like hot cakes because it is so damn cheap! It's even several thousands less than its own Celica GTS... I believe a fully loaded 180HP 6-Speed XRS is $24,000 and change. That's about what a fully loaded Civic Si costs these days... and significantly less than the slower Civic SiR.

Toyota seems to have a true winner here, but I wish they would make the car a little prettier.... it reminds me of the Eagle Summit. On the other hand, the Corolla looks might sexy...mmmm....

Theres also the lower end models with the Corolla motor for people who don't want such a high strung motor. They are selling really well though, much like the new Nissan Altima, there is a quite a long wait time before taking delivery.

Yep yep, true, there is... and that engine is quite torquey actually (owned it twice, on a '98 Corolla VE and '01 Celica GT). Very smooth too, might I add.

Still....... it would be more useable with... say... a 2.4L 4cyl Camry motor

Hey, he never DISSED Hondas........

Only praised Toyotas. And rightfully, so, they are the #1 Japanese car company. They are Honda's #1 competition.

Personally, I really wish they would stuff the 180HP engine into the Corolla. Or better yet, the Euro-Spec 190HP engine. And top it all off with a 6-Speed.

That would be a wake up kick in the *** for Honda to bring in the Civic Type-R 200HP, 6-Speed. The current SiR is an embarassment.

I have known 94EG6HB for 15 years and he deserves a good beating especially when he posted on the forums that he wanted those nasty hacksaw rims for his civic.....He has 5 Zigens...what the hell is he thinking why anyone would get rid of them is beyond me....well maybe because his gf keeps ramming the rims into the curb....or so he says...it's probably him.
And to reply to your post, 94EG6HB, I do have a civic as my winter car....as my mom bought the 4wd matrix.. so :fustrated
(which used to be my old civic....we like to recycle)
ps. it will easily beat your piece of red curd

Toyota never innovates they always sit on the sidelines and watch what others do. This is not me just shooting my mouth off... this is the toyota philosophy....and they will gladly admit it.
Case in point every celica they have produced till now is grossly underpowered and still is.....it has taken this long for them to figure out that power once again is a major selling point.
180hps into a corolla??? are you mad have you seen the current corrola drivers?? They are absolute ****....put them in a car with power and its like giving a loaded gun to a two year old...
and as for 94EGCHB.... look at this post
http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforu...&threadid=1597
if that's not dissing honda I don't know what is......

oh I see mr big threats.....
take your ball and go home. That's fine I now know how you wish to play. I would suggest that comment wouldn't be a good idea; as I have pictures too and it's amazing what one can do with photoshop....

In response to your audi question...I also drive the new audi cuz its a beast and fun to drive....if you care to have you *** kicked in a race be my guest....straight away or cornering....the 235/45/17 will be more than up to the challenge for your red fireball....

(See if you still had your 928 then I wouldn't be saying such things... ....and what's with your old 924 pic?)

p.s. Know I know this post will get erased because we are discussing illegal street racing and that is in violation of section blah blah blah of the criminal code.....did I also mention I watched Star Wars on VCD prior to it being released?
