something like 2 tables and a mixer? I have never tired tables in my life but want to give it a try..

u can pick up used 1200's for a grand (might aswell buy these cuz u can sell em for the same price 10yrs down the road) and as for mixers depends on what kinda music/style of dj'ing you wanna do...beringher mixers are priced very nice and have many of the options that high end units have.

u can get numark or gemini starter kits for like 500-700bucks but they are complete junk and worth nothing after they are used....go with the 1200's (industry standard) and a mixer of your choice (stay away from numarks and gemini)

so $1000 for 2 1200's and around $400-500 for a mixer?

why are the numark and gemini complete junk?

how much can you pick them up used for usually?

yea, a grand for 2 1200's...I paid that for mine and they are MINT came with dust covers, 45 adapters and slipmats...you will most likely need to pick up some carts but then even some people sell the whole thing complete...900bucks will get you a decent set too

numark and gemini are just junk quality...I picked up my vestax pmc270a 3 channel pro mixer for 350used in minty shape...u can get a berningher equivalent for 250new and hell the beringher has a few more options like beatcounter and I think its 4 channel...they also have a 2 channel for like 150...their crap is pretty nice and I think of gettin one all the damn time

a new gemini or numark runs like 250-350 but I wouldnt buy one cuz resale is POOH on em

what kinda music you wanna do? do u wanna scratch? cuz style dictates the kinda mixer u wanna get

dude, dont let your stuff sit around all neglected and **** man...use dem babies!

nowadays the numark ttx tables are nice and ****, especially for scratch djs but if you want the solid pitch control and industry standard table any variation of the sl1200 will rock your socks

www.tribe.ca is your source for the used dj gear...there are a few kits on there right now

as said - your're best to buy a used set of 1200's - if you ever get bored with them you can sell them for what you paid for them.

^^ tribe is good for used stuff, SO is ebay. I just picked up another CDJ1000 for $700 . so now I have 4 1200's and 2 cdj1000.(no I'm not selling any)

Another good thing on tribe - you can find used record collections.
If you have an Idea what you are looking for you can get them as cheap as $2.00 a record. Also hit the used stores in TO. Tune up is awsome for old school and hip hop , Also Play de record now has a used record store(right across from where they are).

Depending on what you want to play - I may have some records I'm willing to part with...
