tv repair, anyone?

tv wont turn on!!!! when push power button i only hear a high pitched sound coming from the set.

Before that i would not be able to turn the tv off at all. When i try to turn it off the picture does an hourglass shape thing where it turns white but i can still see whatever is on at the time.

anyone have any suggestions?

many thanks

Just to let you know........most of the time it's cheaper to get a new TV. Get an estimate before the repiar is done. If it's even half the price of a new one....forget the repair and get a new one instead. (you'll get a much longer warranty than the 90 day one from the repiar shop, and you'll also have a NEW TV instead of an old fixed one)

Then donate the old TV to Good Will, and ask for a donation receipt for you to use on your taxes next year.

Good Will has it's own technician that are in school training to become actual technicians. The broken TV is a good learning tool.

what's your budget like???? Most decent TVs are around a couple of grand right now. Sony is a favourite, but so is Toshiba.

if you are serious, search on google for the "home theatre spot"
