Umm why is gas so expensive again?

Earlier this summer I was amazed, we almost had it down to mid 50's and i thought the price hike was over.

now I see almost 80 cents, thats almost higher than in the winter when everyone was complaining about the price...

A brake in some pipe line they use has cut production.....and they need to make some more money before the summer is done.

I doubt that it's anything they say it is... when BIG OIL or OPEC wants to raise prices.. they do it. There's nothing you can do about it.. which sucks.

Some guy sleeps bad one evening.. wakes up.. says "***** you all".. and raises prices 10 cents a liter. What are you gonna do? Not drive? Complain to OPEC? heh.

That's one of the reasons they were giving. Another reason was cause of the blackout, the refineries are backed up and can't produce the amount of gas demanded. Also by what's going on out east, and something about a refinery in Cali and blah blah blah

well it's more basic then all of those reasons...

supply and demand ...

right now the demand for gas has not changed but the supply in reserviors has started to dry up. why? simple the power outage shutdown the refineries and getting them going again has been a real test. since refineries are not producing a supply the supply that is on hand is worth more and price jumps...

just feel glad you didn't fill up in the praries... 81.9 good god...

then again Alberta prices were sweet... Medicine Hat I filled up at 54.9.... wow....

The news reports have been saying that the cause for the huge rise in prices in addition to the blackout (like gatherer said, their supplies are running low since they couldn't produce anything), but also as a result of the turmoil in Iraq and especially last week when someone sabotaged an Iraqi oil pipe line.

I wish that we had the same gas prices here that they do in Alberta!! They don't have tax on the gas or something like that, right?? 54.9 a litre is probably HIGH for them!!

$2 for a gallon is not bad buddy.. what are you talking about?

$2 CAD for a gallon is 52.8 cents a liter.

Even @ $2 US for a gallon.. it's still 74.2 cents per liter... and that's STILL less than what we pay.

Yeah it's pretty crazy for the gas prices...
i think it'll continue to stay up until there's enough gas in the reserves and it's continued to be filled everyday..

Oil companies can join the queue, along with banks and insurance companies...
simple solution: ride a bicycle & stash money under your mattress.

and they think they got us all by the *****.

HA!
