Unemployed bums in Ajax/Pickering/Whitby

I just thougt I'd let you know about job opportunities at the new Casino opening in Ajax in the spring/summer. Full-time and part-time in the Security Department. $15 to start and it tops out at $19 which is pretty good for the super easy jobs. Government benefits, lots of time off, great training, etc.

Any questions just post them and I'll try to answer them the best I can. You'll need a resume and the closing is on Nov 3.

Well, you can apply to any job at any Casino, but they'll need about 30-40 people just for the Security Department in Ajax. Once construction begins, the Security starts. I'm guessing within the next month or so if it hasn't already started.

No age restrictions, but minimum of 19 I think and i have people in their 60's working with me. It's very customer service oriented, so don't expect to get into fights like some security jobs. While the place is being built, security are the first people to get hired. The job has good advancement opportunities, but not necessarily in security. Once you've worked your probabtion, you can apply to any other job. Most of the Corporate jobs are 6 figures.

The hours may vary initially during construction, but once the place is actually open 12 hour shifts days/nights, 7-7 probably. I'm full time so I work 80 hrs every 2 weeks, full benefits, 120 hrs vacation and 110 hours of lieu time a year. I usually only work 12 days a month with every second weekend off, so it's pretty cushy.

If you are interested, email your resume to HRGaming@olgc.ca by Nov 3. I keep answering questions.

If you have a criminal record or some serious financial problems be prepared to explain yourself. All employees are required to get and maintain a Gaming Licence through the OPP and AGCO. For anyone considering a career in policing, its a great job to have on the resume.

So do you do the hiring? or you just work there?
I live in Pickering so it would be nice and close for me.
Where could I find a posting about the positions?

Nope, I just work at another casino. The jobs are posted on the companies internal website. I might be sent there for training purposes if they offer us the shifts, but thats still some time away.

There is no link that I can find and the corporate website isn't available to outsiders. If you live in Miss apply to Woodbine. They are busy and I'm sure they might be looking.

No physical restrictions. The job is very customer service oriented so goons need not apply. I work with a few 100lbs girls. experience or a college diploma in LASA or PF helps but not necessary if you have customer service skills or experience.

No links that I can find for the public, but it is located at the Picov Downs Racetrack. It will be a slot casino like Woodbine.
