I wouldn't mind doing security for a while if it lead to something better. What are the chances of transferring to something else? Do they usually hire/promote from within? Ideally I think something like a dealer would be awesome, but there's no chance of that at a slot casino..

Potential jobs are posted internally first, thats why these jobs are not on the public OLGC board yet. Your movement up generally depends on your education, experience and work ethic. In security advancement can be slow, but you can go to other departments quite easily. I guy I started with 4 years ago is now a shift manager making $60g's for standing around. Another guy is a GM in PEI and very many are shift supervisors and investigators like me. You will not find an easier way to make $19 hr.

To be a dealer you need to take a course on your own and apply to a casino that has table games.

The hours might be different from what I mentioned above because the place isn't open yet, but at least put in a resume and you can always find out more later once the interviews start.

kwyze how can you gamble but not drink? You have to be 19 to enter a casino. You have to be at least 19 to get your Gaming Licence to work at one.

The posting is now on the public board if anyone is interested. There are other jobs at different places too. Government jobs are gravy.

In that link it says that it's only a part-time position and looking at the requirements, I don't think I'm qualified for what they need as I don't have any experience in security. I had sent them my resume already but I haven't heard anything back from them...If I do, when should I expect to hear from them?
Also, do you have any pull at your job? Like if I put your name on my application or something would it help? I'd really like this job...

Experience doesn't really matter in most cases. I work with lots of people that have 0 experience. They are starting to interview for MGT positions, so I'll see if I can find out more. I have 0 pull at other sites.

I think the OPP guys that do your interview and take your fingerprints and photo would probably figure it out.
