also, it's employment insurance... they ensure employment, not unemployment

My wife got let go from her job in January. There is a Gov't number you can call. Probably can look it up on the net, if not, I can get the number from her when I get home. Once they set you up, there is about a two week waiting period before they pay you. You will also have to call a number every two weeks in order for you to be paid that week.

Let me know if you want the number, I will get it tonight for you

you have to apply online.

after 2 weeks you will recieve a confirmation number of some sort.

both of my brothers collect EI.

$450 every two weeks....they even get gas money too.

You gotta take your Record of Employment to the Human Resource center and apply for it. After that you gotta attend some session explaining how the whole system runs and in about 2 weeks you get money deposited into your chequing account.

It's actually a percentage of what you made on your last job. Not sure what the percentage is

hey man, go to your local unemplyment center....
you will have to fill out papers with a package your company should've gave you.

do that.... fill it out... you will have a short meeting with one of the reps...

then after 4-6 weeks..... you will get your first pay which is like 64% of what your pay is..... ( Gross i believe ) and you still get taxed by Fenderal taxes. haha CHEAP IMO.

anyways... yes you can either mail your slips in or call in Teledec. which is basically the same thing but do it over the phone thing and follow the automated machine instructions.

its pretty simple.....

mind you.. if you get paid bi-weekly, it must be the same for your EI....

if your laid off Temporarily..... just take the time off and gather yourself until your call back date.. you'll need it...

sorry about your situation...

p.s its not 1 year.... its anywhere from 4 months - 12 months coverage considering whee you live... for example T.O would be 4 moinths..... more jobs, more opprtunities.... smaller towns like Waterford, Simcoe, Brantford that would be 8 months get my drift??

length of EI depends on how long you worked for and where you're at. You get 55% of your income, up to $450/week.

Rick's already found something he likes to do, it's just that no one will pay him for it.

all the info you need (w/o the false info ppl are giving you here ) is in that link.

i just got off EI for my broken foot.

55% of what you were making at your previous job. u have to do a min of like 550Hrs to recieve it.

do it online and print it then send it. u will get a reply within 1 1/2 weeks

length all depends ive heard soo many stories.

i got mine for only 15 weeks
my friend got his for only 15 weeks also

may be diff but from what ive seen and expierenced its been 15 weeks max
