Ps this is a good time to think about training/school... They pay for it and still give you your pay.... plus you can use this to extend your payments by appling for it close to the end of your term.

great suggestion!! if it ever happened to me, that's what I'd do - become a small engine (motorcycle) mechanic.

ya that too... there is so few millwright apprentice jobs out there... even the fact i can tig weld 1/8" aluminum means nothing cause i dont have a piece of paper saying i can :cry:

The amount of time and money you receive, is calculated by a few things............... like the amount of time you worked, whether you were full time or part time, and also the overall rate of unemployment in the province you worked in......which is around 7.?% right now for Ontario I believe. (just to name a few things)

Yeah it would be a good idea to go back to school. They lay me off from my last job and I was looking for options. Then I found out that the Human Resource Department of Canada will pay your tuition as long as you are enrolled as a full time student (at least 25hr/wk). The best part is that at the same time you are still receiving EI, for the length of your education and you do not have to pay the Human Resource back. They offered to send me to college/university.
