Yeah I would recommend College too.

Here are the resons:

1. You pay about 1/4 the tuition of a University.

2. You get hands-on EXPERIENCE, something that is MUCH
needed!

3. College is probably a bit easier too. You just have to show up
for classes and labs and basically do your work and don't slack- off. If you do that, you will have straight A marks !!

4. Alot of colleges have co-op programs now-a-days, which will
put you at work at the 3rd semester!! then you take school for
the 4th semester, you work the 5th, and so on till you finish
the program (2-3 years). Then you already have a place to go
to work after you finish, and the money you earned from co-op
will cover your tuition and expencess as well!!

5. With an average of 70, you will get raped in University!! No
jocks!! I don't mean to say you suck and have louzy marks! I
was in same situation as you when I was in high school!

Macleans magazine has their university edition out right now. It'll list inside what the average entering grades were for each university so you can narrow down what universities are a viable option to you and which ones aren't coz of the geek infiltration levels.

I went into college... electrical engineering and automated systems. I had 60's average until grade 11 then it went to mid 80s for senior highschool years. College blows away highschool.

A bit of advice:
Don’t think about a job or a career as such
Ask yourself: What am I going to be do everyday ? 9-5, 5 days a week
Will it be satisfying ? You don't ever want to dread going into work.
Some people think becoming a mechanic is cool because they like working on their own car, till later they realize that working on other people's cars and doing maintance really bores them.

Find out what you like to do and find a career, (sorry no video game playing car racing **** star jobs available) just buggin'

Go to college/university fairs and find out what degrees are actually getting jobs.
A lot of trade jobs where you can make good $$ are depleting and they are good to find out about

Well Good luck

btw I have 4 jobs, I know really crazy but I like each one, I never dread going into work especially my main job

When you still have a choice....

Try your best to get into the University (retake, upgrade)
Don't just look at the next few years, but look at it in a bigger picture (e.g. Careerpath, Promotion)
Having a degree will paid off eventually. Especially if there might be a chance that you would want to work in the State, HK or China, etc. They like to look at those degree crap. I personally don't agree with that, but that's life to be honest!

Mugen C

computers go to RCC it's a private college and expensive but you will not regret it .. the calibre of the education you get there is top notch IVY-league stuff ... ok well I dunno I've never been to an IV-league school... but hey you'll be able to find a job after wards and make good cash and it's a short program

Royal Clown College
or was it Radio Communications College.... i get them mixed up

anyways, you got 70s and are hoping to go to university??? Maybe like a general program at Laurier or something j/k

OK, you want a tip... figure out if you can handle the office work 9-5 before you decide on a career path. If you can't do it... fawk the whole university idea, it's a waste of time, esp given your marks.

Job is what you do for the money, live pay cheque to pay cheque.

Career is doing what you love, and regardless what kind of money you get, you still go to work with a big smile on your face everyday.

So far, I can say my daily job is 75% career and 25% job.

bbarbulo ... the guys I went there with called it that .. the royal college college

RCC used to stand for Radio College of Canada. since Radio was the first form of electronic devices created.

anyways now it's simply just RCC college of Technology. they are the priemer place to go to school for electronics...

most of my co-workers attended that school and when they hire from the outside the company they only place the job posting at the school (if it's an entry level position)

depends on how much education you are willing to get involved in....

I went to university for 4 years and couldn't get a job....

Went to truck trivers school and was the highest educated dummy at the company!

I went back to college and took business to suppliment my BA and then I moved ahead.

Think about what you'ld like to do, then evaluate which route will get you there the quickest and most economically.....

The only way your gonna get a remotely useful job from RCC is if you come outta there with 90s..

If your not good at math, seriously don't do it cuz your gonna end up wasting like 14K for nothing.. They crash course you in half the time of a regular college. My bro went there, and yeah he did very well and got a great job with Bell. Another friend of mine went there and he got like 70s and was gettin offers from celestica and other bullshit companies. He now works on contract basis for a wiring company that does wiring installs world wide. It's ok, but no stability.. BE SURE THAT YOU WANNA DO THIS BEFORE GOING THERE.. RCC can very quickly make you hate electronics

while I agree Nursing is great there still are tons of job in the tech sector ... esspecially in Canada it's great... just have to know where to look... if I could stand the site of someone elses blood I might have gone into nursing .....
