Valentines day help...

Hey guys, I'm planing something good for Valentines day, but I need some help. I know nothing about Chapaign, need some advice on what to get.
Also if you guys could suggest a good place to buy flowers (good & not too expensive) & candles that would be great.

Like how to spell it. During Valentines, most flower shops jack up there prices, so trying to find cheap ones may be hard.

Valentines day falls on a monday this year, so I'm thinking of getting everything on a friday and going out saturday night. would the prices still be as expencive as on the day of?
Anyways, the flowers arn't that important, i don't really care about how much more expensive they are going to be, the thing that i really need help with is the Chapmaign.

For Champagne, if you don't want to spend much money Freixenet is good and not as sweet as the other cheap bottles.

Actual Champagne from France will cost somewhere around $50. If you do feel like dropping some coin on a bottle Piper Heidsick is good and about $45. My personal favorite is Veuve Cliquot which comes in the yellow box, Moet is also a good one and they are both $50-60.

The only thing I will add about champagne in relation to girls is that most of them don't actually like the good stuff as much as they like the cheap stuff. This is for the same reason that girls think that White Zinfandel is a great wine, they like sweet drinks. Good champagne is not supposed to be sweet and so about 75% of women would prefer the taste of Spumanti Bambino to a bottle of Cristal in a blind taste test. However, if you do show them the labels, 100% of them will pick the more expensive one and then put up with the taste because it's more classy to drink the expensive bottle.

WOW really, didn't know that. this is going to be hard lol.

yea I'm ready to pay around 50 bucks for a bottle. just don't know for which one. In this case I guess a good choice would be something in the mid section. what do you think?

get a bottle of ice wine instead.

fat bastard wine is pretty cheap and decent.

for flowers one thing i will tell you is loblaws and whatever get the exact same roses that fancy shops do.. i used to work in a flower warehouse.

I myself like buying rose petals... fill the tub a stupid bath bomb thing.. throw in some rose petals (like $5 for a bag) and some scented tea light candles from the dollar store... that really sets the mood. my woman is funny.. when i do ish like that.. she doesn't take the time to enjoy and and just wants bang bang bang... but when the guy just wants bang bang bang without any of that, the guy gets in trouble for not considering her wants and desires.

I've learned the atmosphere and enivornment play a great deal with the mood a woman is in, while guys, at least myself and a lot of my friends don't really care if it's in a dirty coffeetime washroom or at the royal york. accept maybe you can lean on a few more places at a clean place.

champagne is only really champagne if it is from france... anything else is classified as 'sparkling wine'

i prefer a red wine when i'm with the ladies.

if your girl has ever bought and drank 'zinfendal' then anything will do.

last year for valentines i went to 'My Apartment' with a bunch of the guys and got trashed and spent the next night with the woman. hahaha

that's definitely the way to go I think. I don't allow myself to fall into traps set by hallmark and commercial money making schemes.

Candles are ano brainer. Every store will have red candles in the next few weeks. Maybe try a scented one. As for flowers, another no-brainer, every flower shop willo be filled with roses soon. But as a little change, maybe try some pink and white roses with the red ones. And on't waste your money on long stem roses unless your girl is picky and has to have the authentic **** (i.e. the real Luis Vuitton purse...etc...)

That's a great Idea about the rose petals, defenatly going to use that.

I know that flowers are overrated, but it just looks nice (i think, in this sutuation)

For Champaigne, I'm going to grab a bottle from France.

Boys, let me tell you something about women...

I buy my fiance flowers at least once a month for no reason in particular. She had a pretty good X-mas in terms of gifts. I bust my *** around the house. I cook and clean and I don't mean to brag, but I'm a CHAMP in the sack. I listen and more importantly, I remember what she is talking about. I ask her how her day was even before I mention mine. Everyday is like Valentines Day for her.

Sure I'm pu$$y wipped, but I love her.

If you guys think cheap champagne and flowers you bought at the grocery store will impress her, you are sadly mistaken. Read the above and try to do something thoughtfull because she can see right through you otherwise.

Oh, ladies of TCC correct me if I'm wrong.

Your's truly,

Lance Romance

Speaking of things the both of you can enjoy...Why has nobody mentioned Lingerie???

And get her some nice stuff, not the crap at La Senza or La Vie en Rose because chances are her and all of her friends have seen it a dozen times. Maybe order some Victoria's Secret over the net or look in the yellow pages for a nice classy womans store that sells lingerie...can you tell what my girl is getting for valentine's day?
