i am raising kids and i know what you are trying to say but i totally totally disagree with you. the moment you said 'you have to realize', means that you are putting up some sort of a reason for it...even though it is wrong.
a child would not cry for that long without any reason. there has to be something wrong...it can be hunger, a dirty diaper, physical pain, fear etc. so in most cases, its the parent's fault plus responsibility to tend to it.
so again...to say a crying child can rob you of your sanity is BULL ****. you gotta be patient enough and know how to deal with the situation.
