Video Making

hey everyone, my buddy younes_si told me to post here, i just got a new digital cam, i got the cannon a520.... so far so good...

i also have the sony trv260 handycam... now i was using windows movie maker to make our car videos and now i got ulead 9 i think, or 7, anyway, its the new one. the vidoes look like ****, i think... nothing like most of the home made videos i see you guys post...

anyone know why???? im using a USB cable that came wit the cam... somone said firewire but i dont know....

The camera is Digital 8 and not miniDV (digital video) meaning that you would probably lose some quality that way.

I've never personally used the Ulead, but WMM is basic enough that anyone could do some basic edits for their home movies.

Firewire transfers your raw video faster than USB. Maybe check some of your settings when you're ripping the video off the cam?

another question, what kind of rechargeable batt's you guys have for your digital's... i just got the Panasonic 2300mah

I suggest you check out what the frame rate is of your digital camera...

for me personally I got a Canon ZR200 for my racing vids and I've never had an issue with it.... works great and the video looks sweet... but my camera is a MiniDV camera thats meant for motion picture capture.
