Video uploads from DIgi

Anyone have a canon A80? WHen i film videos /movies and then upload to my comp, they upload i .MVI format, i can view them and all but in premiere, it wont let me edit them? Anyone know how to solve this?

Try saving the files as AVI format, or convert them to AVI once in Premiere. This will use a lot of HD space, but you can always change the format later and worry about compression then.

There might be other ways, as I haven't used Premiere in ages, but I remember my files always being AVI format.

Also, if you go off your camera through firewire into the comp, it should be MPEG 2, shouldn't it?

hmmmm , maybe it may be the firwire thing? im not uploading it like that for my digi, im just unloading the files on the mem card from my printer, it shouldnt make a differnce tho, i know avi is a big le, im just wondering cause i nevr haeard of mvi till now
