LOL you guys should know by now when I say something totally illogical like that, it's just to invoke response. I like the macs, but I think they're really overpriced and kinda not intuitive to use. Someone asked me to fix their mac notebook, and I didn't even know where to start, and looking on the net sure didn't help. To me, a mac desktop is more of a peice of furniture than something useful. you buy it cuz it's pretty, like a Bang&Olufson phone. yeah it's really pretty and very expensive... which ultimately does make it better since they somehow have to justify the cost. PCs are very cheap and utilitarian...

you know, I really don't. microsoft actually is still probably the best source of info for new vista users... they have a ton of documentation on it out there, user manual type documents, tutorials and stuff... I'd start there first! I'll say, there is stuff I still can't do with vista either, but I just don't have time to figure it out. but it doesn't cause me to say "vista sucks" like most ppl... it's not vista's fault I don't have time to dink around with it.

I never said that I know what you think better than you. I said that I disagree with your statement.

As for Vista vs. XP, I have to admit, I haven't used Vista much because I use a Mac however, you have to admit that the Ctrl Panel on the Vista is pretty weird. What was Microsoft thinking when they made such a design?

I agree, people try it (or Vista for that matter) for 3 mins then jump to a conclusion...

Another con about Vista is that most (not all) hardware, i.e, webcams, keyboards, mouse, etc. are not compatible with the program. Hence, one will have to buy new ones.

that's not vista's fault, that's the device manufacturers cashing in on an opportunity to sell more stuff. all they had to do was write some new drivers, but nooooo let's ride the cash cow!

that'll depend on when your notebook was built. a lot of machines running vista built between Nov-March were using XP hardware with a Vista OS. but after March when HP had their usual quarterly update of hardware, they went to Vista designed hardware. but there is a Compaq that's available now (as of July) with XP media center 2005, so for that particular computer you can still find drivers.
