Are those the exact cars you are buying, or just what you think you may get... if these are the exact cars... hell, either way I'd take the Prelude for reliability. But the Talon is a fast car... just very expensive to own.

You can't compare a FWD and an AWD turbo! Yes they are both in the 200hp, but their acceleration is much different, not to mention the cornering abilities. Turbo allows to you tune more. Prelude is some what a civic with 200hp but not the performance.

have you sat in each car?...sometimes for me the deciding factor resides within the layout, and how things are presented...Personally, I have not sat in an eclipse, so I'm not sure...but between the two cars you have posted, I like the eclipse...

I heard the trannies are not too good on the eclipses either but it may just be the drivers destroying them. I know a guy that wen't threw 3 trannies in one summer on his 2000 Prelude so you can't really backup your argument on one or two drivers experiences he/she has with their car. The price tags on ludes are significally higher than the tags on an eclipse b/c I have done much research on these cars in my past. A turbo charged 97 eclipse was going for $11,000 with 98 K while a 97 Prelude was going for 5K more with almost double the milleage. In decision between the two cars would be quite difficult for me to choose from, they are both very nice cars. I think i'll have to go with the Prelude and turbo charge it as soon as I get it, but if the tags are comparably similar then I would have to take the Eclipse on this one.

The reason why the Lude costs alot more is because of its re-sell value. Not all cars have the same re-sell value.
Honda usually has the highest re-sell value. That is why a 1990 civic hatch can be sold for $1,000 + with 250+K kM versus an American car or any other.
My friend got his 1994 SRV stolen, the insurance settlement was more than what he paid for - the car. He made a few thousand dollors for a high milage car. So I told him to get the Lude which he did and leave it at a Ghetto area and get it stolen again and make some money from it. Then again, he is paying $7,000 on insurance.
I would worry about the tranny thou, I know if I was driving that car with the turbo - I would never stop boosting. REDLINE extreme...
