you have to think of it this way,
when your in the situation if gettin into a fight that a fight has already happened, and your pretty much gettin bashed at this point, i dont care what the law says I would be using anything to save my life. I see that alot of people always talk about the law saying how you have to use the same force and stuff but when your in that situation you tend to not really think.

and like people say, anything can be used as a weapon, i could use a pen and jab it up your throat/jaw and i bet you it would hurt prettty badly.

judging by the response in this thread, i'm glad we don't live in a society where most of us feel the need to carry concealed weapons in order to protect ourselves....unlike others that i know of *cough america cough*

Plus if you pull a weapon (that you don't know how to use btw, it's harder then just swinging) and somehow don't end the fight with it, you're pretty much toast cause you're gonna get beat alot harder.

And I don't see a situation where you are in your car and its 3 on 1 and you can't just drive away.
I've seen a 2 on 1 in stopped traffic downtown. (Kinda funny because it was after WWF Raw at Skydome) Two idiots were punching Jeff through his window while holding his door closed. I had to get out pull one guy off, and then the other so he could get out. Second guy jumped on my back while I was holding his friend and started scratching my arms. Needless to say Jeff got out and the fight ended quickly.

Anything can happen, I'm with Bruce fee on this one though, the car is a big enough weapon.

Agreed, but he is talking about carrying weapons before anything happens. To me that's almost boderline premeditated. He is already assuming he is going to get his *** beat with whoever he comes in contact with.

Being 28 and driving a TSX does not make you mature. I am not saying you aren't, but lets be realistic. What age you are and what you drive does not determine how mature you are.

The fact you started this post trying to find out what other people carry in their car for weapons to me is not a mature thing to be posting.

Again, just my opinion

Pepper spray... purely defensive, legal to carry, it's a ranged weapon and stops fights INSTANTLY. No need to worry about actually fighting or how many people are in the fight. Plus if the "bad guy" has a weapon, he's pretty useless with it if he can't see.

Best part is that you can conceal it in your pocket and look completely non-threatening so that you have the option to talk/walk your way out.

you guys are seriously missing the point. i have never been in a fight in my life. i just asking for the sake of asking. its a protection thing. dont you have a car alarm? think of this as your body alarm

anyway...some other threads are real mature...like punching chicks in the face and swearing in different languarges...

i think everyone that has responded in this thread lives outside the 416 area code....gee, could a suburban pattern be forming?

I personally carry an ASP also. I've been trained and certified on how to use it, but it's collecting dust in my trunk. I'm not condoning carrying a weapon of some kind, just pointing out the consequences.

If you feel the need to carry some kind of a weapon, be prepared to use it responsibly and correctly. If you kill/maim someone in self defence, chances are you'd be the one going to jail. Unless you know how to use the weapon, there is a good chance the person could take it away and use it on you, thus making your situation worse.

imo once you hit the age of 25 or older and have a wife or children...or even a fiance ... there is no need for any kind of weapon in the vechile...cause chances are you are mature enough to stay out of situations that put your life in jepordy because you have much more to live for then just the weekend ahead of you.

i keep an extentable in my car, it is collecting dust that is for sure, but it is there for peace of mind. it's a ****ed up world and if having a "weapon" in the car makes you feel secure, why the **** not right? The fact of the matter is that anything can happen at anytime to the most prepared person and having a weapon, even within reach, will most likely never even come into play. Even if you are being attacked and somehow manage to pull out ur weapon, the attacker and pull out a gun and blow ur brains out. All it is is a safety precaution no matter how useless it is.

^^^ Because everyone doesn't agree with you that carrying a weapon in your car is a good idea? If you did get into a fight and you were outnumbered, how long do you really think you would be able to hold onto that asp of yours before one of your opponents started beating on you with your own weapon?
