I think I got my last one at Moores.........its decent, I can't remeber how much it was, I think it was in the 200 range.........

as kwikb16a2 mentioned the thrift store is definitly an option, I was in one once and it they were like 25$ or something, I mean if you find one that is decent and clean and new looking, and you only need it for this occasion, why not.....

I wasn't......(I don't have one myself, but its an option, I have heard people doing it, if you only need it once, why not, get it cleaned......but you said you could use it again,) just go to MWW or Moores or something like that.....

I got my last one at Moores. it was $260.00 (but they also have less expensive ones too)

You can save a few $$ by getting your shirt at a thrift store - they are usually a few $$ for a nice shirt and you can probally find a decient tie too.

i agree. it's always good to have one good suit...safest is to just go with a black one. works in all situations: formals, weddings, funerals, job interviews, even taking your girl out to some fancy restaurant. then all you have to do is just buy different shirts/ties to mix it up a bit.

Yep get black.

Check out that new place called Pintripe Menswear. The one with Darcy Tucker in the commercial haha. Starting at like $160 for a suit, and they give you everything, including shoes. It's in the new mega mall.

A man needs a good fitting suit... don't think cheap, think value. You get a cheap suit, you'll look cheap. You'll feel cheap. You'll act cheap.

Budget between $800-1200 minimum for a suit. Until you can afford one like that, I recommend that you rent a tux or something. After all, this is a wedding.

Also, Hugo Boss has facotry outlets you could try... maybe there you can get a better deal than at Harry Rosen or Freeds.

I agree completely.
I have one black suit, which i got from harry Rosen, paid about $600 on sale.
Seriously pimpin.
Fit and tailoring are as import as the suit itself.

I bought mine in the US, paid $470 USD... that was 5-6 years ago though, that isht is out of style now. I need a new suit soon!! It WAS straigh gangsta back then, now it's just whack. Luckily the wedding I'm going to is next summer, and we're all renting the same suits so we can all match (my buddies and I) so I don't have to get a suit for a while.

$800 is a little pricey. I used to work for a clothier back in my younger days. You can get a very nice made to measure suit for about $500 from some tailors on the Danforth..Granted the cloth is not Ermenegildo Zegna, but you will get a decent wearing cloth.

I will definitely agree with Bruno on the point - invest in a good quality suit. They last longer and wear better.

There is a shirt maker on Church St, south of Dundas. Downtown. Makes a great custom shirt for $75. Really nice fine high thread count cotton.

If your budget is real small - don't buy a cheap polyester/vicose blend suit. Invest in a good pure virgin wool suit.

You can buy a decent used suit from Thrift Villa or Goodwill or the second hand shops in Kensington Market and have it altered for you. Just make sure the suit is in very good condition and at least fits you somewhat. The alterationist can take in the sides to make the suit form fitting, and if need be, narrow the lapels. I bought two suits from Thrift Villa and they were from Harry Rosen. The fabric was beautiful, and all they needed was the jacket to be taken in, and the pants cuffed..

Don't neglect shoes. You should have 1 decent pair of conservative black shoes. Brogues or wingtips. Florsheim makes a decent shoe..not too bad in price.

Dress for success....
