weirdos scamming

hey people
today i was walking into my insurance brokers office when 2 guys in a van stopped me telling me they had home audio speakers they were selling. I asked what it was all about and the guy told me some story about how at there warehouse in the states, they were supposed to pickup 8 speakers but were given 16. They both were sounding super excited like it was the greatest thing that ever happened to em. Anywho, he shows me this laminated brochure thing saying how they retail for 1300 dollars and they needed to sellem before they went back and would be willing to sell em super cheap. Now i knew this was some kind of scam because i had the exact same thing happen to me last summer, even exact same story lol. not only that but the whole thing seemed staged. the guys even gave each other a high five which i thought looked weird. Just curious if any of you guys ever heard of anything like this. It was really annoying, i just wanted to go inside and these guys wouldnt let me go so i just kept offering them 100 bucks.

lol that happens all the time! With all sorts of electronics, speakers, tv's, laptops.

You want them to go away, ask them about warranties

if you want them to go away, tell them that you're meeting your brother whos a police officer and that maybe he'll be interested in their proposition.

I had a couple of guys in a Infiniti offering me a $3500 1200watt home theatre system brand new in box. He opened the box and everything for me...but at the end it felt fishy...especially for 300 bucks.

the speaker guys arent a scam...the speakers arent stolen or anything, they are just crappy speakers that are worth 80bucks each...I always talk to these guys about their lil business and joke around cuz I know the inside and out story...but on the other hand these other randoms with laptops, brand name leathers and other high price items I would stay away from...somethin for sure wrong there

They were selling me some Divinci home theatre gargabe.

the box that came with my new amp for my home theatre was bigger than the "DiVinci Home Theatre in a box"

I think I had the same guys roll up in their car beside me in the summer trying to sell me speakers. Since I already have a decent home stereo they better know what they're talking about when they try to sell me some cheap sh*t speakers. The only thing I'm interested in for $600 bucks is some stolen Paradigm Studio 100's which retail for over $2500/pair.

This happened once in London and a couple times in Barrie to me. Some guy selling speakers. Now too bad it wasn't a $300 HDTV stolen or not....
