What does this tattoo mean? and is it chinese or japanese?

One of my cousins that lives in florida sent me a picture of him and his kid... theres a tattoo on his arm... im just woundering if its chinese or japanese and what does it mean?? anyone who knows chinese or japanese that can help, thanks...

neither...that doesnt look like either chinese or japanese...actually, the top one looks japanese and the 4th one is korean (but it just represents the sound "ch")...the others look like characters from other languages.

He probably just wanted some random characters tatooed on his arm cause he thought it looked cool just like all the guys that get the japenese stickers for there cars and they dont even know what they mean.

I am pretty sure they are Japanese tho?!?!?!?! Because some Japanese words are actually taken from the Chinese writing system, that is why the first and the third words resemble that of a Chinese word.

but how do u explain the 2nd and last ones? that doesnt look like japanese to me.

yeah, korean characters were influenced by chinese characters too.

It's Japanese for sure, and I can read the "ni" "eru" portions written in hiragana, and rieki is a Japanese name, so I'd trust that he's right!
