Where did it start? How has it evolved?
I want to know a different story? in greece its tuesday the 13th. highly inlucky day because that day in May 1453, the turks won and took Konstantinoupoli (today Istanbul). it was the end of the Byzantium era and till today, that day is a black day

I’m going to a friends wedding this year on August, Friday 13th.* The wife is Italian, and in Italy the number 13 is considered lucky.
I’m not superstitious, so I don’t care, heck I would live on the 13th floor of a building………superstitious people are silly.

^^ Its only the 14th because of superstitious people.
Actually those condos near the SKYDOME (Not Rogers Centre) have a high Asian population, and hence no 4th floor either, apparently 4 is bad luck too.

Are you asking me if I'm kidding about the 4th floor or the reason behind it? There is no 4th floor, I've been in it. As to Asians and an aversion to 4, it was explained to me as bad luck, may not be the case.

why? superstition is the same as religion. unfounded stupidity.
markham is all round streets because chinese people don't want to live with a straight line road coming into their house.
people don't want to live on the 13th floor, so it is labeled 14. don't they realize that they are still technically on the 13th floor, it is just labeled differently?
what is sad is that these things affect market prices because so many people are mentally ill.
at a job i used to be at this chinese guy wanted his new extension changed because it had the number 4 in it.
We didn't do it until his manager asked our manager.
