my mom bought a house, so thats her christmas gift to us

and my gf is serbian so her christmas is 2weeks from now, so we'll exchange gives then.

also i got enough cash to cover the first insuranse payment and the tax on my car that has jus been sitting there for a month now.

however i'm grateful b'cos everyone in my family is happy in there lives right now, which is a first. and i think that is more important then exchanging big exspensive gifts.

merry christmas everyone, have fun shopping tomorrow :santa:

it's a huskey... (kinda discribes me too I'm "huskey" ) anyways with it I got an Air rachet and a air impact gun and a air spray paint thingy and an attachment for filling tires and an attachment for blowing air.... thing doesn't take long to reach 90 PSI in the tank .... max is 150 PSI it's a 22 gallon tank and a 5 HP motor .... flows 5.1 SCFM so a little on the low side .... (I believe you recommended 6 or 7 CFM.....) what can be done to increase that number? what affects that number? the size of the tank?

for now it should be fine but I think I'll start tweeking it for more power .... like string 3 or 4 60 gallon tanks together and fill them with the motor and then go for it .... I need impact sockets I got 6 but all really shittly sizes for civic bolts so it's off to princess auto for boxing day sale or maybe sears.....

Hey jay, word to the wise, GRAB THE COLEMAN SOCKET SET FROM WALMART

I picked it up the start of last spring, $20 for 1/2" drive deep impact socket set in either SAE or metric, ranging from 10mm to 24mm I belive. Best deep impact soekct set ive owned. I boguth some cheap one before that and the insides rounded out after like a day of use WTF???

Anyways the Coleman set I love, its the only thing coleman Im proud to own, I got the coleman impact kit with ratchet and impact gun but they suck i just love the sockets there damn hard and inside look brand new still and not rounded one bit.

Just a heads up.

As far as the tanks you should be fine, my Campbell Hausfeld is 5.5 scfm @ 90 psi and its more than adequate for my impact and air chisel, but stuff like air grinnder is a nono or your gonna run your compressor down alot.

As far as adding tanks up, hmm Ive never tried that but often thought about it. It should help alot I assume, because Ive been doing some research on diff compressors and noticed even some of the small units with double tanks flow more SCFM.

So like a 2hp 4 gallon twin tank will flow 4 scfm at 90psi, whereas a 20gal 5hp will flow 5, and a 2 hp 4 gallon single tank will flow 2 at 90.

Odd stuff

So i guess the pressure from combined tanks helps alot, just take alot longer to fill since if its an oiless pump there kinda slow an dnoisey like mine

I think it's because the tanks work in parrell your taking air from both at the same time....so more SCFM ..... anyways thankls for the advice .... it's boxing day shopping time

i think total I came out with $1200 , now I dont feel so ghetto living in scarborough.

Jay and Matt, I dont know much about compressors and stuff but does the flow not have to do with the size of fittings etc.?

Awesome to see everyone had a pretty good christmas, now we need to have a meet for show and tell.

haha chris I need to start asking my parents where the money at

your right the flow is somewhat restricted by the size of the hose and fittings etc, but to a point.

They say for over 50ft of air hose you should use 1/2" tubeing, and under 50ft its ok to use 3/8" tubing.

if we have a meet its gonna be a little hard for me to bring my jack in my civic and i presume jay will have a hard time with his compressor

Good luck to those of you who got engagement rings for their g/f's and congrats on the one who's gonna be a DADDY!!!

As for Christmas presents, I got pretty much everything I asked for this year! The Coldplay DVD, Family Guy DVD's, 28 Days Later DVD, and then assorted gift certificates to stuff like Chapters, Gap, etc. and best of all, cash!!

There's one thing that I knew nobody would buy for me this year so I went out and bought it myself a couple weeks ago! A new pair of shoes!

The best present of all was being woken up early by my girlfriend for a little bit of morning, errr, "play". *hint, hint, wink, wink*

Neil, excellent news my friend Yes that look on her face would be priceless. I still remember the look on my fiance's. She was speechless. But maybe she was thinking... "too small..." LOL

Got her a bottle of pefume on boxing day, I don't think it was on sale but matter not. She couldn't decide between 2 brands but later settled with Miyaki as oppose to Nina Ricci. Sure smells nice.

My new seats arrived about 2 weeks ago so that sorta represent X'mas present for myself I suppose. I am already saving money for my next X'mas present LOL
