What if...
we have the similar regulations here in Toronto:
SPEED LIMITS
Despite the widespread belief of complete freedom from speed limits, and a lobbying effort that has the same power and deep pockets that the American gun lobby has, some speed regulations can be found on the Autobahns. Many sections, particularly those with dangerous curves, in urban areas, or with unusually constant heavy traffic, may feature speed limits ranging from 80 to 120 km/h (50-75 mph). In construction zones, the limit may be as low as 60 km/h (37 mph). Also, some sections now feature nighttime and wet-weather speed restrictions, and trucks are always regulated (see table below). Still, much of the Autobahn is unlimited, but there is a recommended limit of 130 km/h (81 mph). This recommendation is generally seen for what it is-- an attempt by the government to cover itself without having to upset millions of Porsche and BMW owners/voters. However, if you exceed the recommended limit and are involved in an accident, you could be responsible for some of the damage costs even if you are not at fault.
And if we do...
we all need something like this:

hahaha man, if only we could have that here, but I think somehow we'd get alot more accidents here than compared to those on the autobahn, some people just can't drive for beans in Ontario

that's true... the solution would be to make getting your drivers lisence more like it is in Germany.... you have to know alot more and be able to drive a lot better to get your lisence there than here, that's why they have less accidents, it's not cuz of the speed limit, its cuz they have better drivers...

i used to live in germany and its not how people say you can go any speed on the autobahn its like this rigth lane for trucks,vans,suvs---middle lane is for cars---left lane is for passing people. For all the time i have lived there i never heard of a autobahn where you can drive as fast as you want. IF you want to do that that is your choice if you want to lose your liscence.

So you're saying that there is a speed limit on the autobahn? since when? i've been there before, they have recommended speeds, and yes the lanes are for certain types of cars but if a cop saw you doing 180 he wouldn't pull you over for speeding...

I was born there and lived there for over 12 years. I have also never heard of anything like that either. Only thing i kno is that there its more of a tradition to move aside when a car aproaches u from the back. Here people just remain in the same lane there if a vehicle comes a bit close they move aside so the vehicle can continue passing them.
They also have a wicked technology in which the cd player or cassette player stops playin when its on and the news (SPECIAL REPORTS TRAFFIC REPORTS ETC" come on and then it continues on from wher the cd or cassette stopped from.
