I probably will get bored with it, but for learning purposes I want to start with something that is not overly powerful but still pretty good.

As for the Ducati, nice bike, not on the list.
Keep your opinion and vote to what is on the list they are the only ones in the running.

GSXR great overall bike, nicely balanced, prefect for learning.

R6, nice bike... good value for the money.

Honda, take this one if you are getting the F4i fuel injected.

Ninja doesn't do it for me...

Out of all of them, prolly GSXR and CBR are the only ones I'd really consider, out of which the price tag would decide. Whatever I got a good deal on

I voted the Honda, really nice bike but if I had a second choice I would go for the yamaha. They're both very nice bikes

Maybe this might help.

A friend of mine has had a GSX R6, a CBR 6, and the Yamaha R6 which was his favourite. Before the weather gets too shitty, go for a few test rides.

A good learning bike is the EX500 believe it or not. It's small but will teach you the basics. With all tohse bikes you'll be fighting to keep the front wheel planted.

When your learning you want to be able to constrat and not be going fast.

Just what my bike buddies thought me and after this weekend, I'm getting a bike for next season.

Cantonagod, they are all wicked rides. It's truly up to you, thats why I suggeted the test rides. I read the article, and the Yamaha was the winner. The CBR and ZX6 are both brand new designs. The Suzuki is a great bike, but a little older. The Yamaha the smallest and lightest, which might benefit a new or inexperienced rider.
