What should I do it on?
I have to do a speech tomorrow in my Oral English class. It has to be 5mins long with no visuals. What should I do it on, I cannot think of anything but I want it to be interesting.....

here are some topics i can give speeches about over 10 minutes off the top of my head..
1. government is inherintly evil
2. jeet kune do concepts
3. violence works
4. feminism vs equal rights
5. freedom of speech does not truly exist
6. organized religion is for the weak
7. god cannot be defined
lemme know if you want a breakdown of any of these.

Do it on Pres Bush, u would just have to say a few things and the rest would do it for you. Meaning the class would most likley be fired up and start tlking and asking questions.
I did it for one of my courses in Uni and man did it ever turn out to be good and very controversial.

feminism is sexism
-affirmative action reduces the rights and abilities of the majority because they belong to it
-violence against women is not treated the same as against men (ie a woman slapping a man in a club - reverse the roles)
-women can walk topless in toronto, men can't wear tanktops in bars
-not everyone's concern
-feminism gets trivialized by being mixed in with other special interest groups (ie lesbian rights)
-feminism attacks other groups, yet expects their support
-benefit a very small percentage (smarter women just move forward with their career instead of crying about it)
-can yield a very biased view and block other logical decisions (ie siding with a political party talking about feminism even though their true political ideology belongs to a party on the other side of the spectrum
-want to talk away strippers, but chauvenists have no problem with chippandales dancers

3. violence works
----just talk about disputes where no other answer was found...
--large scale
-hitler taking over - diplomacy failed
-japan getting the US involved - a-bomb got them back out
-jews wanted israel - ********* tactics to claim the land
-bush wanted to pump the economy - went to war
--small scale
-violent self defence can save you from being raped/murdered
-smacking someone upside
-look up crime rates in texas and compare it to neighbouring states with stricter gun laws
i dunno man.. just think about it and you can come up with whatever.. as long as it's an oral english class.. and you don't need data and states.. you can use false logic.. heh
5. freedom of speech does not truly exist
TWO BIG TOPICS - CAN BE BROKEN DOWN INTO LAWS AND EXAMPLES
-hate crimes in canada - not allowed to publish or publicly preach hate
-patriot act in the states
7. god cannot be defined
-god cannot be limited to the 5 senses, my experience can/will be different than yours, neither of us have 'proof'
-there is no original god, they're all derived from previous religions
-god has not physically defined itself to us, we have made assumptions from emotions and thoughts
-god cannot be experienced in a reproducable manner, therefore, how can you know what he is.
-i dunno if you want to take this one, you're basically saying anyone who believes in any church is a dillusional idiot
