Microsoft Movie Maker version 2.0

Free download, and it works alright, be sure to save often as I've had it lock up a few times.

adobe premiere is pretty slick...but not cheap. you can of course download it off kazaa or something like that.

if you haven't already, a good place to start is here:

Avid. That's the one and only. Expensive, but amazing.

I use Final Cut Pro HD mainly. Not bad once you get used to it. After Affects, now that's a bitch.

ULead Video Studio is pretty good. I have used it a couple of times. Fairly simple, and you can even use the demo.

Yep Marty - been a Mac user since '90 - First mac was a IIfx with Radius Rocket 040 accelerator. Apple certified tech.. I remember when Netscape was small enough to fit on a FDD......

Safari is great. Opera is also worth checking out.

Yeah..nothing beats reduced instruction set computing....I work on both platforms and found Jaguar to be bulletproof. My 2 kids hammer the living crap out of my imac DV and it keeps on ticking. Try that with XP!

geniuses do

depends on what apps you're running Rick..
i need a 'puter that will let me use the ram i need, WinOS just gives me only what it's not using..
in other words?? a Mac is a shyt load faster when it comes to rendering/editing/multi-tasking etc..anything that uses a shyt load of ram..
Windows bogs down like a *****

that's cool. how do you find the new G5 iMac? i've been looking into Macs recently too. as a lifelong windows user, i am leaning towards buying a mac whenever i decide to upgrade. they just seem way better...although a bit pricey, especially those PowerMac G5s.
